+1 to the guy who said good riddance to all the Rubio fans...

It's winning time.

Can we ban this guy from this board?

I get it that he doesn't like Rubio... Fine
But this is absurd...

I didn't do anything but voice my opinion... it's not like I'm incorrect. Look at rubios stats since his rookie year. Not one improvement.

Go get yourself a Utah jersey and enjoy a few more years of Rubio out of the playoffs while the wolves are 4-6 seed. Maybe even higher

Heat fan, before i knew it who was Ricky Rubio i was already a Timberwolves fan, so don't come here to disrespect the Timberwolves fans who also like Ricky Rubio.

Rubio is gone, the last post's was all about how classy he was to appreciate Minnesota (fans, players, staff, club, city, etc)

I'm a basketball fan. I like multiple teams. You act like calling me out as a heat fan changes anything.

I'm not disrespecting anyone...

You're trying to hard to make me the enemy. Ricky won't ever see a playoff game in his prime/as a starter cause he sucks. Welcome to the new era and so long to all the guys "abandoning" the wolves because Rubio was traded.

Ricky treated the court like a chess board and found his man when it looked closed off or impossible. Making the impossible happen - magic - is something Ricky did with regularity. I'm grieving today, and not happy to see him go. He was an inspiration, and if you love a pass first point guard, a legend. I too loved his clips from when he played in Spain. It shows just who he was coming into the league. This set of clips features a behind the back TWICE moment on his way to finding a cutter with a split second wrist snapped pass.

Rubio is a flat out magician. Walk with Me IMO is totally contradictory. He acts like Rubio is total crap because he doesn't shoot well and then he says Redick, who is possibly the best shooter in the NBA other than Curry, has NO VALUE because he's a turnstile on D. I guess no player is worth anything unless they are great at every single aspect of the game.

Who's this random loser who says he isn't disrespecting anyone and then talks sh*t about the guy the thread is about?

Go back to being nothing.

The best way of finding out if someone watches the Wolves or not is if they say that Ricky is a poor defender. Gonna miss these types of plays.

Nothing against this whole argument and I've always been the guy standing up for Ricky against my friends, but I fully under stand moving on from Ricky.

The ball is gonna be in Jimmy or Andrews hands. Mostly Jimmys. Teague fits that way better then Ricky

If Hayward stays in Utah then Jazz has bigger chance making playoffs than Minny with no bench.

Ricky isn't really that good of a defender. Sure he gets some steals and is always causing havoc in the passing lanes. But he doesn't slow down other PGs. Opposing PGs score on him and drop plenty of dimes.

Don't forget defensive Rebounds. They are a huge part of defense as they end the opposing teams possession. Rubio was also one of the best rebounding PGs in the NBA.

I think the Wolves were right in trading Rubio, but you are definitely being purposefully annoying. Reading the Wolves board the last couple of days I've seen you do nothing but condescend and gloat to such an unnecessary degree. Your cries for attention are pretty cringe worthy.

I just don't like Teague. I'd have been more fine if they ended up with Holiday or Lowry.

As far as value, we got a pick and pure cap space. Cap space is valuable and can't be undersold when looking at our return.

Jrue just got a 30+ contract. Think we all liked Lowry, but we dont know everything happening behind the scenes.

Being somewhat neutral about the Rubio trade, a few things stand out:

1) Ricky was/is universally adored by most Wolves and is easily one of the most popular players in franchise history.

2) How many times did you read a post from an opposing fan bashing Rubio because "he can't shoot and therefore has no value" and just want to punch that moron through your monitor knowing they probably never watched him play more than a handful of times? Only true Wolves fans can appreciate how great a player he is.

3) The fact that most people don't view Teague as an obvious upgrade over Rubio makes accepting the trade even harder. Teague may very well be the better overall fit for the current roster but I'm going to miss the "Mop" running up and down the court in a Wolves jersey.

Minutes later, at a proper Wolves fan;

You are an idiot, period.

Sure not, right after the classy goodbye from Ricky. You are bringing such a great vibes to Minny, aren´t you?

It finally happened. It hurts, but the writing was certainly on the wall. Still remember his first game. Kid looked smooth as ****. Injuries really hurt him. If he stays healthy, he can still grow into a great player. Just needs to stay the course and self-believe. I'll always be a fan of The Rubester. I've said it before, the 7 9 6 4 - type statline should be named after in Minny. How many Triple Doubles did he juuuuust miss out on in his career? Lots.

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
