Re: Miami HEAT Offseason/Trades/FA Thread: Sardine Central 2.0
One side effect of Sacramento's offer sheet: Wizards will likely match Otto Porter, but in the meantime, $24,750,000 of Sacramento's cap space is locked up until Wizards respond. That's money that isn't available for hunting guys like James Johnson or Dion Waiters.
The Kings have about $56M in cap space. If they had made Waiters an offer like 4/70 (starting at $16.3M), they would have got him. I expect them to wait now. It buys us some time.
There are other teams in play of course, but Nets may also be considering Porter.

I remember 11-30 with these guys. ^

Kings are getting serious. Thats a whole lotta green for Porter. Wall and Washington wanted PG13.

It's his max non-bird (5% raises):
24,750,000
25,987,500
27,225,000
28,462,500
Wizards can offer: (8% raises)
24,750,000
26,730,000
28,710,000
30,690,000

Riley and Spo in Southern California. Hayward headed to San Diego. Waiters meeting with the Lakers. Almost as if we are meeting up with Hayward's contract after his goodbye to Utah in San Diego. Riley getting Magic to take care of Dion.

When is Wall a free agent? He's surely out. He publicly made it known when recruiting PG13 that although Porter is solid, Washington only has two stars. He also put off his extension talks to see what the Wiz do first.
He'd fit greatly with GH and Whiteside.

They will match. Their issue, IMO, is depth. They'll keep the starting 5 together. I don't think Jodie Meeks alone is enough to push them up to second best in the East though.

That's about when Dragic will decline.
Damn. We really need to land GH. He could really attract a big name or two in 2018 or 2019. Great player and teammate to play with.

I've been informed that Waiters is in Los Angeles, not San Diego. I now understand his disappointment. I'm sorry, Dion.
