It's interesting that Celtics fans think they are so much better than the Heat. I'll give respect to their city in sports overall, but in terms of basketball.... Since the Heat's formation in 1988:

Heat: 3 titles, 5 EC titles
Celtics: 1 title, 2 EC titles

Rapaz has been super active today, must be the McSob/Hayward connection that's got his juices flowing. :nonono:

Dru Smith very lucky he got that 500k this year. He should invest and manage a subway after all this-MettaWorldPanda

This doesn't worry me. That's the thing about having a culture like ours. We are a factory that takes broken players and makes them fit and primed.

2015-16: Luol Deng, Joe Johnson
2016-17: Dion Waiters, James Johnson, Willie Reed

Aside from that look what we've done with our undrafted players and 2nd rounders: Rodney McGruder, Tyler Johnson, Okaro White, Josh Richardson.

My choices if we lose Hayward and whiff on Waiters:

1. Thomas Robinson (PF)
2. Cole Aldrich (take that OKC pick Milwaukee is offering) (C to backup Whiteside)
3. Tyreke Evans (previously suggested here) even broken. We can put Humpty Dumpty together again.
4. Omri Casspi?

Then we watch the Summer League and G League games and just do it again.

We just have to make the playoffs to make me happy. As I've said before, we are not contending, not even with Hayward, I think.

Nice take Goemmels. But I think we compete with Cleveland if we add Hayward to our core.

What is Aldrich contract like? If it brings in a pick, I'd take it if it's not TOO bad. Let him backup Hassan, let Bam start at the 4 with JJ off the bench.

$7M for one year and then not guaranteed for 2018-19.

Unfortunately no. We know just as much as you guys. Reporters keep mentioning the same thing:

"Everyone is the favorite for Hayward, everyone's meeting went really well, everyone is confident."

I think it's going to be a very hard decision for Hayward.

I have inside info:

The Heat have a 33.3 percent chance.

Jazz have a 33.3 percent chance.

Celtics have a 33.3 percent chance.

Others have a .1 percent chance.

Woj looks nervous and confused on ESPN. He's been struggling this free agency for some reason.

I feel like the last time we had a chance like this, we ended up with Beasley over Rose

Also, you're the new dude on the Celtics Board who said he had info on the meeting. Nobody from any team, not even the Celtics will believe you if you're new and say you have insider information.

Yeh, I noticed that too. Maybe he is camera shy. I mean he didn't have to talk that much for Yahoo. Also, the Vertical has been breaking everything not him.

I didn't hear much, just that the meeting went well and Celtics feel good about their chances. lol relax bud, I'm not trying to be that guy who says they have all these sources, just thought I would share what I heard from someone involved

Not very optimistic, to be honest. Whatever happens, happens. Celtics and Heat are both going to be fine after he chooses. Right?

I think it's down to Miami or Boston honestly.. not to come on your board and flame y'all but you need him more than Celtics do. I would love for us to get him though. We will still be fine if not. You guys need him if you wanna make some noise in the playoffs. Good luck either way!
