the only potential trading parters are the ones carmelo picks. He does have a no trade clause so everything else is irrelevant. The knicks have no leverage, the only leverage i see is that melo and dolan had an agreement that he would agree to be traded to 2~3 teams in exchange for canning phil (meaning melo won).

so what are we talking about? you said that melo can´t make a contender better, i say he is, at the Moment, the best option for both teams to compete with GSW.

And in my opinion, thats our leverage, if they want to go into the ring with the warriors they have to pay.
Otherwise LeBron or CP3 will lose another year. I don´t think thats their plan.

Our so-called leverage is nonexistent. Having an unhappy Carmelo Anthony is not good for the team. It is not good for the development of Kristaps. We need to get what we can get and rid ourselves of Carmelo. He is not some high value commodity as you think he is. Houston and Cleveland don't have the assets to give you what you want. The best case scenario in my opinion is a three-way trade with Detroit. Where Carmelo goes to Houston, Anderson goes to Detroit, and we get tobias Harris.

The suggestion of benching Carmelo Anthony for two years is ludicrous. Not only will that result in the players Association revolting for Carmelo, it would ruin the reputation of the Knicks for years to come. No free agent Will ever sign with New York. In today's NBA the players are king and you cannot do what was done 20-30 years ago.

Very surprised Melo is open to a D'Antoni reunion.

They could run Olympic Melo and actually contend for the title without playing defense. It'd be an amazing case study.

I won't get too excited. However Woj has been 100% right on Knicks lately.

Let's hope somehow we get a solid return. I won't expect too much because it's Melo.
