Knicks outgoing = Carmelo Anthony
Knicks incoming = Channing Frye : draft rights to Guerschon Yabusele :draft rights to Semi Ojeleye : 2018 LAL 1st rd pick 2-5 protected : LAC 2019 1st rd pick
Boston outgoing = Marcus Smart : draft rights to Guerschon Yabusele :draft rights to Semi Ojeleye : 2018 LAL 1st rd pick 2-5 protected : LAC 2019 1st rd pick
Boston incoming = Kevin Love
Cleveland outgoing = Kevin Love : Channing Frye
Cleveland incoming = Carmelo Anthony : Marcus Smart
The Knicks move Carmelo and get a stretch 4 to back up KP + picks + a french stash pick + Ojeleye (Duke recruit transferred to SMU)
Boston gets Kevin Love without breaking up their core of Avery Bradley : Jae Crowder : Al Hortford : Isiah Thomas
Cleveland gets Carmelo Anthony and Marcus Smart to back up Kyrie and play the Dellavedova role.
who says no? If Ainge balks at giving up picks you can counter with LAC 2019 pick + 2 second rounders instead of 2018 LAL 1st
Boston says no, but I'd dance in the streets if this went through. Possibly you get them on board with less coming to the Knicks in picks, but it would be an interesting negotiation. Cleveland and Boston are the clear top class of the East...how motivated will they really be to engage in a blockbuster trade with each other?
I think the idea someone proposed with Cleveland and Portland on the last page is interesting. I think there is a wildcard team in the the West, like Portland, who could help facilitate a trade with Cleveland. I have a hard time imagining a trade with CLE and BOS, but that would be fascinating if it happened.
