So now we focus on moving Baze, re-up THj, and maybe sign Bogdanovic?? Joffery Lauvergne as a PF with some upside? Nikola Mirotic? Jan Vesely has supposedly transformed himself into a C. Possibly we add him and see if we can capitalize on this.

Does LAL have anything (asset-wise) left they can send us if we agree to take Deng's crap-awful deal?

LAL was offering a 1st with Deng before they moved Russel and Mozgov.

I think Baze is here for a while. Schlenk will probably try to get something out of him before making a bad trade like with DH. I don't think he's going to sign THJr. Someone will offer a price that will take him off Schlenk's radar. Baze and Plumlee are already bad contracts, don't see him adding more than 10 for THJr. He wouldn't make a big difference to this year"s record and is likely near his ceiling.

Hawks are going to have a down year or two record-wize, need to be very careful not to hand out relatively big contracts to marginal players for a few meaningless wins unless signed to develop and trade

I agree he wouldn't want to have a lot of overpriced contracts on the team, but if he was to move Baze, I could see THJ coming back. Otherwise, this definitely feels like more than a one or two year rebuild. With Schro being the only notable player currently on the roster, we're likely destined for a top 3-5 pick, which I;m certainly not opposed to.

Agreed! We need to buckle up and drop games. A top 5 pick in 2018 along with the Minny pick probably 15-22 range, and a top 5 pick in the infamous Bagley jr/Zion 2019 draft and we are back ready to get at it in 2019-2020!

Lebron might slide out of Clev soon. That could work well for the Hawks

things are already looking up. Maybe our asset management isn't as bad as we are making.

It will be a while before Hawks can climb back to the top of the east. I think Schlenk has a golden idea of how to do it well and relatively quickly. We might be quite entertained watching the young guys play Budball as early as this season. Love watching young Hawks develop. I believe in Bud's scheme. Now I want to see him take a young bunch and build something special.

I don't know. Not signing Sap to a 3 year deal where the 3rd year is team option just seems like a missed opportunity to keep talent. Talent that could be useful in trade later. The only explanation is that we are planning to be at the bottom of the league for a couple of years. I think the newer hawks fans will bolt and we'll be on a 5-10 year quest to build the brand....again.

Agreed! But with Dennis, Prince and Collins..we could be back in 3-4 years. But we'd have to do almost everything right including draft the right players...no more Shelden,Childress or Marvin boo boos.

Adrian Wojnarowski: The Phoenix Suns are waiving guard Leandro Barbosa, league sources tell ESPN. – via Twitter wojespn

I've always loved Barbosa. Perhaps to back up Denny?

I'm definitely in favor of acquiring Jonas V. But don't want us to pay much to get him in trade.

Can't say much for his fit with the roster still in flux. But he's a young, talented big that can put up solid numbers in a euro-style offense.

I have no idea on how he can J Collins would mesh in a front court together. But JV is a piece worth getting and figuring out the rest later.

NOTE: With so much in flux, I wouldn't risk either the Minny pick or the CLE pick in trade for him.

think JV could play some Budball. We should be able to take on salary, especially if THJr is not matched.
