I would love to nab Tj Warren

I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

He is on our summer league team. YOU were the one who posted it! People really need to read what they post instead of rushing to be first for everything

IF you guys hated JV's lack of mobility on switches, wait till you get a load of this guy

It doesn't matter what shape he's in - big men with talent WILL NOT flourish under Casey. The only big men who work are guys who play like garbage men. Wasn't there some stat about the big men on the Raptors having the worst usage or something.
Biyombo having a breakout season here wasn't no accident.

Sucks that he wasn't traded years ago when his value was higher also really sucks that we strongly considered
drafting Kawahi but Colangelo couldn't resist his Euro fetish. I guess it could have been worse he could have drafted
Jan Vessley.
Kahwi was an unknown. He is this good because of Pop, duncan, and a plethora of Vets who gave him opportunity to grow. He would have a different career in any other city.
I'd gladly settle for a top 30 Kawhi as opposed to the top 5 Kawhi the Spurs are lucky to have
Agreed, even as half the Kawhi he has become, he would still have been the best 3 we've had in years.

The team won't go anywhere, but at least they can give fans false hope. We can watch Ibaka take terrible jumpshots and try to help recover for the terrible defensive system they play for the next three years and then finally start the much needed rebuild, with a new coach.
There's a part of me that thinks Masai wanted to let go of Casey in that moment, during the presser. I'm pretty certain if Leiweke was still around Casey would've been long gone by now. There seems to be a bit of a power struggle; with MLSE not wanting to let go of Casey after just signing an extension, and Masai wanting to part ways.
The irony is that the players that can create their own opportunities offensively, flourish under Casey. The ones that need a system and opportunities created for them on the other hand, don't.

Re: Schultz: Raptors also shopping Jonas Valanciunas -- there is interest
JV's a defensive relic making him virtually unplayable against the top teams in the league. He's been under-utilized offensively, and I have faith in his jumper, but he's such a poor passer that he's not an ideal fit beside Ibaka (another poor passer). It's time to move on if the value is there.

You're right. There was 72 million dollars of motivation.

Kidding aside i see the Spurs being the only team with significant interest and would probably be a fair deal for both sides. This is simply a change of scenery trade. JV and Cory Joseph for Lamarcus Aldridge, 2nd rounder and fillers. JV would excel in Pops system, Cjo goes back to familiar territory and LA adds veteran presence to our team.

I like that too, but then next year when LMA opts out, we lost JV + Cojo for only a 2nd

CoJo will be an FA next season anyways and probably won't return. We shed JV's salary essentially for 1 yr of LMA's service, and then we can use the money we save to re-sign Powell. It works out well.

You don't need to attach JV to shed Cojo salary.
Use a protected pick to shed DMC
Now you still have JV to use for assets or keep n space for powell

I see this a lot -- would he though? Pop prefers guys that can defend and pass, or at least do one of those things well. JV doesn't fit that mold.

What team fires their most successful coach in history for mediocre player like JV? Wake up to reality, JV is not Duncan and Casey hate it or not is best coach this franchise has ever had .. and players like Demar, lowery, Deleon, Poetle, Powell have no problem developing under Casey ..
