Embiid vs Booker is the Oden vs KD draft all over again. Generational bigs almost always trump all, however it rarely pans out when there's any level of injury history.

In that case I'd like to see it done for Kemba Walker.

Jabari Parker?

This one's a cheeky one but I've gone with Klay first. If Klay wins the poll I think we'll go to Kemba.

I think Jabari would get smashed seeing as Wiggy didn't come close and Jabari's coming off another ACL.

If they were the same age.... Thompson... he is perfect for today... Elite scorer without needing the ball... pair him with a decent point guard and watch him work. Elite defender.

He is balanced.

Booker is a good dribbler and ball handler, his shooting has regressed due to him trying to be an all rounder... his defense is non-existent.

What's the purpose of these Booker vs other preference threads? I mean what are you seeking to find out and why? It's nonsense.

I didn't really find an explanation in his explanation but maybe others did?

He lead the Finals in rebounding. Not bad for a SG right?

I'm pretty sure that was a joke. Dirk may shoot like a SG but he doesn't have the handles or mobility of a SG.

And like someone else said, Duncan couldve very well been the best player or a very close 2nd best on the Spurs title team.

The whole idea that you can't win a title with a big man is ridiculous. You wouldn't trade Booker for a skilled big man like Karl Anthony Towns or Anthony Davis? Please.

I agree you are right, he was the last big man to win one. I was more talking about his offensive style, but you are right he was the last big man to win one. I was just trying to show that the game is becoming a perimeter pg-sf league.

Pf/C are still vital but with the new way the NBA is if you play with a true PF and C you will have trouble vs these small ball teams. The game is just evolving just like when the NFL stopped using full backs and put in another or multiple WR

Voted for Booker over Thompson. Klay is more like elite role player. Great to have when you already have your 1st option but not so good as a cornerstone.

Thompson is a true 2-way player so I'd pick him. Booker is more versatile offensively but his defense is so bad that I'm skeptical about him ever having the kind of +/- impact Thompson has. And as impressive as Booker's 70 point game was, Thompson has had some impressive scoring games. His 60 in 3 quarters was insanely efficient. When that guy gets hot he's as unstoppable as Curry. Curry is just more consistent and not as streaky.

That was a j..... ah never mind.

If you play the position you're as real as they come. It's all about how effective you are for that position. Draymond Green is the best center the Warriors have.

Thompson is a legit two way player and has been the #2-3 scorer on championship teams. Thompson is every bit the scorer Booker has shown he can be and plays the other side of the court as well.Like Biff mentioned, that Booker 70pt game is historic but Thompson also had his 60 in 3 quarters and could've hit that 70pt mark as well if he wasn't yanked from the game. If Booker could be half the defender Thompson is, he'll already be an all-star. Right now, you have to go with Thompson. He's proven more while Booker is still untapped potential at this point in his career.

1) Klay is better shooter but he is not the scorer Booker is.
2) Comparing 27 years old player and 20 years old player is not fair.
I'm taking Booker and don't think twice.

I think it's plenty fair. We just have to figure out how much we will get of them in their prime.

Klay is comfortably the better player and I believe is/will be the better player in their prime. Klay is an elite defender and if anything is only a notch or two behind a Book in his prime offensively.

But realistically we're getting only 3-4 years of prime Klay (his game will age well, but so will Book). Book is probably 3 years away from being in his prime... but he could easily be in his prime twice as long Klay.

So I think Book takes this one easily. Net value from Book will be much higher (whether or not it will be enough to push a team over the top is another question)

And he can maybe put us over the top, but he doesn't have to be the best player. We likely have 2-3 guys with higher upsides as two way players and maybe any of them are the best, or they all are just simply very good or some great, so the future may be bright depending on how they develop.
