It could be that he just wanted it announced his way. But at the same time, if the truth is out already out IMO it's just a dick move to say you didn't decide yet. If what you were going to do was already out there, just confirm, say goodbye and be done with it. If it is Boston, then he's actually messing with Jazz fans at this point.

Another player I'd love to have. Sign him, Dion, and JJ, pick up Wayne Ellington on the Room exception. Be done.

I remember 11-30 with these guys. ^

wait... He has the same option in Utah, but, well, better. Remember they have his bird rights. By then he may even get the 6 year super-duper max deal.
Nobody can beat Utah, tax or not.
Do you honestly think that after Gordon is 30 years old, Utah will pay Hayward a supermax?
Even if he doesn't, Utah is still giving 8% raises. You can make the argument that the East has more opportunity for him, maybe that Miami has more publicity deals, etc, but for the actual NBA contract, he could sign a better deal there.
In any case, I've totally moved on (if I was ever there.) We should sign Waiters and JJ before Hayward really makes his choice.
But only for three years with less playoff games (that's less money) and federal income tax. Then, when the next contract comes, he will lose more money if he stays in Utah. And let's not forget that we can have a sign-and-trade to acquire his bird-rights.

Justise putting the clamps on him in the 2018 playoffs.
