Stop with this this nonsense.

How about this for nonsense - I'd let Jon Horst put his dick in my ass if we get Marcus Smart

Nowak is the only person that gets a pass here because I'm still not totally convinced that he is not in fact Marcus Smart himself.

Shooting is overrated my friend. We don't need shooting, we just need guys who are um good at basketball. Delly, Telly, Henson, Beasly, Terry, Thon, Vaughn ...were bad last year.

Marcus Smart is a good basketball player.

What type of bizarre world do you live in? Marcus Smart isn't a good NBA player.

In a world where Marcus Smart single handily beat the Cavs in a playoff game, and played 30 mins a game for the team who had the best record in the eastern conference last year

We signed a Shooter last offseason and he shot himself out the rotation. Give me the ball hawking tenacious defender who can actually stop the opposing PG's penetration. Which was a big weakness of ours last season.

But the shooter we signed sucks, which does not exemplify your point.

Best defensive guard in the league - so that's something.

Plus offensively he isn't a complete zero because he can handle the ball and can make (simple) plays for others, averaged 4.7 ast per game in the playoffs and during the season. Also, I think his post game is coming along and in a year or two could be a weapon.

Still only 23.

You got a stat that backs up "best defensive guard in the league," cause nothing on BB ref indicates that.

I mean, I'll take him for nothing or if we can get rid of a contract. . . or if the option is taking either him or D. Rose.

See, the good thing about Tony Allen is that he knows he shouldn't shoot, and he can actually manage to convert attempts at the rim, too.

Our bench blows. I agree. I am not about the give up anything of value for a guy who isn't going to move the needle for us, which is what Smart is. We need to use that value - picks or players - to acquire guys that can actually help us.

Like I said to the other guy - Tony Allen for his career averages 1.5 ast per game - Smart averaged 4.7 last year. He is just a much better offensive player than Allen is. Also, I'm convinced Stevens for whatever reason gave him the green light. If we told him not to take as many 3's, I think he would do it.

Just imagine how sick our D would be if we had Giannis, Snell, Mid, Smart, and Thon are all on the court.

max contracts in general are stupid.

keep the cap, get rid of contract maxes. would help the talent distribution in the league, and would allow guys like lebron to make significantly more than guys like otto porter (who's a good player, but come on).

Yeah eliminating the max and putting in a hard cap would in theory be a deterrent for super teams and would drive down the money for role players. But that last point is why I just can't ever see the players union agree to it. Why on earth would the majority of players vote for something that would help a very small number of stars (some of which make a **** ton off the court too) and negatively affect the larger majority. Guys just aren't going to vote against their self interest.

Atlanta did well to sneak in there and take a few chances with Stone and the pick.

No offense to you, please don't take it the wrong way, but I'm fed up with the probably 20th post or so about the inevitable departure of Giannis.

I mean JESUS FU***** CHRIST! Can I at least enjoy the time that he's here!?!?! Whether it's 4 years or 14 years, can I at least enjoy Giannis being a buck without all this talk of him leaving!?!?! ARGH! :curse:

It's not just you, but the last week or two I've read a bunch of these, oh we are so sad, we are gonna lose Giannis because our FO sucks and we suck and he's gonna leave us. **** ME! STOP WITH THE NEGATIVITY!!! UGH!

It's like having a long distance relationship with someone and you only see them a couple times a year on a three day weekend, but the entire **** weekend she's just doing this sad Goddamn count down, "Oh no, you are leaving me in 3 days...Oh no, it's already evening one day is gone, you're leaving on Sunday and I won't see you for 6 months. I'm sad, you're going to go soon, this is my second last dinner with you..." LIKE **** OFF!!! WHY DID I BOTHER TO COME HERE IF I'M GONNA LISTEN TO YOU CRY ABOUT ME LEAVING THE ENTIRE **** WEEKEND!!?? CAN'T WE JUST ENJOY THE TIME THAT WE HAVE?!??!

We can't predict the future, Giannis is committed to Milwaukee, in his heart he wants to stay and win a championship. We can't predict what's in his heart 4 years from now or 10 years from now. We only know right now he wants to 100% be here with every fiber of his body and that's good enough for me.

No doubt it's a total Bucks move in 4 years to lose the only Superstar we've ever had since Kareem, it is a possibility and we are a perennial **** organization, but FOR **** SAKE he LOVES MILWAUKEE! LETS JUST ENJOY AND CELEBRATE HIM WHILE HE'S HERE!

Just have a hard cap like hockey with two way contracts for development. It is so simple and works beautifully.

Ok so let's say the Celtics are willing to trade Smart in order to sign Hayward -- what do we offer?

I'd tell them to make it Crowder instead. I'm another member of the "What does Marcus Smart bring to the table?" club.

To be honest, Smart may actually suit whatever our scheme is offensively. It's not like we actually run plays to get our shooters open, why not get a guy who is better close to the basket?

That said I'd rather we actually run a scheme that makes sense around Giannis.

Yep, I see why people are upset but saying Giannis is going to leave inevitably is just gross!

I'm worried about Giannis' free agency but I'm actually really excited about this upcoming season. The cap situation sucks but I think we could be really really good next year. Looking back it's kinda crazy we won 42 games despite playing garbage basketball for over a month and Middleton missing 50 games. I wouldn't be surprised if we exploded next year and won 50-55+.

Im expecting a slight bump based on the improvement from the youngsters like Giannis, Thon, Brogdon, and a healthy refreshed Middleton will be enough for a 5-6 game improvement to about 47-48 wins.

I think we still have defense problems, lack of playbook, and some deadweight with Mirza/Henson are going to still hold the team back. I have a feeling we'll win a first round series and I'm sure I will be caught up in the hype. And we'll have to debate if it's good for the franchise. I'm also looking forward to the first 1 game losing streak in the PG thread and seeing all the tank gifs.
