Hope it doesn't effect Ellington but he might just be the odd man out. Him or Rich. I could see them opting out on Elli to pursue Rudy or try to attach McBob to Rich for similar relief

TJ
Dion
J Rich
McGruder

TJ's the 6th man filling in both positions with J rich playing beside him also in both spots. McGruder is Justise's backup with Okaro being the odd man out imo. Yeah once TJ starts getting paid there are some concerns but salary shouldn't dictate who starts, look at the Warriors when Kerr benched David Lee for Draymond back when he was making the min.

If we move TJ then it doesn't matter if we keep him I like him as a 6th man, yeah the money is a lot but if he plays 30-32mpg regardless it doesn't really matter.

Also including Ellington as i feel like he's going to get his option picked up or renegotiates to come back. And McGruder as the backup SF is just not feasible for me. It was a cute story last year out of desperation starting a 6'4 guard at SF but i'd like to avoid that this year.

Are you serious Mos? How about the Lakers? How about any team that wants an insane 30ppg player? He might not get a 5yr super max but he's getting north of $30mill easy. Maybe as part of LA's pitch to PG or anyone else interested in a beast point guard.

Don't fool yourself, he's the type of talent you move contracts to sign, he's better than Hayward.

Don't think having Lonzo Ball or some other team already having a PG will deter them, the money will be found. Jrue freaking Holiday just got $125mill... :noway:

that's not his max, tho

LA is gonna be in Westbrook sweepstakes

Holiday got this contract, cuz Pelicans don't have a choise, look what happened with George Hill.

Insane 30ppg player is cool, but he will be 29 next summer and he's 5'7. He will get a reasonable deal like 5/150 but not the max

This is what a 5/150 contract with bird rights looks like:

$25,862,069
$27,931,035
$30,000,001
$32,068,967
$34,137,928

$150,000,000

I agree with you. I think he won't get much more. Remember, though, that there are two sides of the equation. Boston will have no cap space, so their only way to go forward is to resign their RFAs or trade them for cheaper replacements. If any other team outbids them for IT, they cannot replace him. That will make it a bit tougher for them.

It is tho Mos.

Maybe not in terms of years but in terms of per year, expect him to be in the $30-$35mill per year neighborhood or whatever his max is for at least 3 to 4 years. Something like the Lowry deal, probably more if he balls out this playoffs.

Hell if he kills it this playoffs he might get a supermax, again trash players get paid big money. I know money will be tighter but IT is not trash nor is he average, he's a top 5 PG.

Dru Smith very lucky he got that 500k this year. He should invest and manage a subway after all this-MettaWorldPanda

I agree with this.

Young too, 24. Good scorer punch. Athletic (I think?) can have a mion-esque rival imo.

Would be nice. He has an offer sheet from the Grizzlies and is RFA. We have to outbid them and see if they match. They should since Zach Randolph is out now.

3 years since Bron leaving is shorter than you think, can't expect to make a splash so often

Well, I disagree with you. But we will see soon, I think he will get extension around October

We don't have a prime/peak Wade-like player on this current roster to entice star/superstar-type players . No franchise, contending 1st option talent on this team.
