The only plausible plan with Smart would be to play him the 10ish mins/game that Giannis sits.

Smart played 30 mins a game for conference finals team...but some how we only have room for 10 mins a game? :uhoh:

The Cavs/Warriors series is too fresh in some of your guys mind. Our goal should be becoming a top 10 offense and defensive club. Last year our defense was MUCH more of a problem than our offense. Smart + Giannis gives you an amazing foundation on becoming an elite defensive team. If we can be a good defensive team, it will help our offense that much more. Our offense will come down to if Giannis can have a respectable jumper since he will have the ball the most.

One way players don't survive in PO.
No hay banda.

I'm not a big fan of Smart, tbh. He's such an atrocious offensive player. But he's an excellent defensive player, he's tough, and he's exactly the kind of enforcer you want on a playoff team. I'd take him.

The problem with Smart is that he's not a PG. I'm surprised people didn't notice that Stevens moved him to the 2-guard spot this season. They did the same thing with Bradley because he wasn't a lead guard either, but the difference is that Bradley can shoot, Smart can't. He's a non-shooting wing and no matter how good you are on defense, that's a type of player that gets exposed in today's NBA more than ever.

I'd take Smart for a 2nd, don't see how he fits on this team really but he'd be good for 10 minutes off the bench.

Man do I hate watching Smart play though, awesome defensive player but is constantly flopping and is a total knucklehead offensively

My issue is that so little of the Player's Tribune stuff is written by the players. As you read each story it is done in the same style and voicings of the ghostwriter who does them.

You can substitute "Jabari Parker" or "Gordon Hayward" or "Chris Paul" in the byline and the story and the content and sound is identical.

You absolutely can. Many people here said it was incredibly stupid and short sighted to blow all that money on medicore FA's last off season just because of the cap spike.

That cap space is an asset and that in the future, those types of players would have their cost go down.

tldr; Bucks gonna Bucks.

I get what you're saying. But the Dion Waiters one definitely felt like he wrote that.

Woj is doing the rounds at ESPN since he just joined the network. He was on the Russilo show talking about how everything was so lined up for the Jazz. Rudy is 24, Rubio 26, and young guys all over the place. Hayward looks like central casting put him on the Jazz and they still couldn't keep him... then what in the world is Milwaukee going to do with Giannis when their front office is an abject mess and they are bringing in guys like Telly/Delly. It was about as unkind a 15 seconds as it could be. And yet it was soooo true.

Smart organizations know the cap can't keep going up year after year. Should have had 20 million still the sign guys after the Snell deal. Patterson is a perfect example of that, hell even Ilyasova is still sitting out there whose much better than Teletovic at this point.

The salary pie got a whole lot bigger last year, but teams still need to manage how that money gets divvied out, both in the current year and down the road. Plus, the Bucks are and will be paying off the Sanders negotiated buyout. While that sum isn't huge, it's still a detriment to the Bucks cap position

Yea, there's individuals making six and seven figures who are supposed to possess the foresight to respond to variables like a cap spike.

The basketball fan in me likes the idea of Milos alongside Gallo, Griffin and DJ, the Bucks fan sees ghosts of Rose in MKE gear

Ingles was 1% from leading the league in 3pt% and held JJ Redick to a PER of 4.8 in their playoff series.

Damn, so he went out of his way to trash the Bucks unprompted???

I'd love to know everything he knows about the situation.
