Wtf is a "rim protector"? Is that some sort of new term for a guard/wing?

Rim protector is a shot blocker or guy who can deter shots at the rim.

Don't think we have enough juice for Dedmon but I'd love him on roster

Which undersized 4s that can't rebound are out there now that Gallo is off the market?

Robin Lopez comes to mind but I don't see how they can make the money work. Maybe a S&T with Kelly?

I have an idea

Celtics get Marc Gasol

Griz get Avery and Kanter and a first

Thunder get Marcus and Crowder

So the Thunder are giving up just Kanter for Smart and Crowder? When do they get arrested for theft?

They can give up the 1sts

You do realize we're talking about Enes Kanter, right?

Pacers waived Montae Ellis. Not sure if posted before.

I think they will stretch him too, to open room for Olynyk.

There. are. no. free agent. rim. protectors.

Tells you how much they value rim protection when it's last on the list and what we're saving for vet minimum/half-MLE guys.

If we actually create some real room, there's Dedmon.
Example: could create about $10M with my DSJ trade above. Then Rozier for a pick and you got $12M. Use what you need for Hayward, bring over Yabs, rest to Dedmon

IT/DSJ
Jaylen/Smart
Hayward/Tatum
Al/Yabs
Dedmon/Zizic

Vet mins, Kadeem, Semi, Nader, etc as depth.

Part of me wishes we took Jordan Bell in the second as opposed to Semi but I can see how the value was too good to pass up at that slot. Semi should've gone 20 picks earlier and slid. Bell fills a lot of gaps as a bouncy active shot blocker though

I know nothing about college players, but from what I read I was rooting for Bell to fall to us. Then when GSW bought him, just kinda confirmed evertyhign. But, yeah, Semi could very well make it worth it anyways.

djFan71 wrote:I wonder if we could work something out with Dallas to give them more of a "win" now roster. Would need a team (say CHI) to absorb some salary for a 2nd rounder since DAL is capped out, but something like:

BOS: DSJ
DAL: 2 of Smart/Crowder/Bradley, CHI 2nd rounder
CHI: Dwight Powell

Salaries match up whichever 2 you use, so they can have their pick really. DAL has:

Matthews / Barnes / Dirk / Noel with 2 of AB/Marcus/Jae. That's a solid 6. Not much depth, but it's not like they're really rebuilding either and want to give Dirk a better shot for his last year(s).

Chicago or someone else gets Dwight Powell for a 2nd rounder.
We get DSJ and a lot of cap room.

ETA: Add in BOS18 to DAL if need be.

I like it but I think Cuban is in LOVE with DSJ. DSJ/Barnes/Noel is their new foundation and I don't think they'd bust it up for anything but something they'd consider a young foundational piece.

Bogut, Hibert and Withey are actually all guys who over their careers have been Rim Protectors. Bogut is old, fragile, and awful on offense. However, he is a rebounding machine and a rim protector. Hibert well not sure he has any qualities other than 7'3 he used to be incredible in this role for a short span, and Withey is just not very good but blocks shots.

Jonah Bolden went one pick before Semi as well and he was awfully impressive Monday showing some range and shot blocking as well
