How many years until Pat Riley Retires?

Post#1 » by fsuizzy » Wed Jul 5, 2017 1:53 pm

I personally, feel after the past few years Riley is ready to hang it up really soon. It will truly be a sad day for the Miami Heat Organization and for us the Miami Heat fans. But deep down inside I feel that he is ready to hang it up after the past few years. I think his last run would have been if he had re-signed Lebron but now he is just trying to leave the Heat in a responsible spot to build and grow. Or I can just be.

If he retires theyre going to give his role to Spoelstra. Its inevitible. He will be president and coach of the Heat.

Not sure the meaning behind the words is as true as the words.

He's fine, no expiration date yet.

Some fans are just so spolied by him that they expect Shaq/Lebron every 2 years.

Before he came we were the pits since he's been here we are one of the elite.

Give the guy the credit he's due and keep your crap to yourself.
I remember when the Dolphins were perennial contenders

I think he will retire when 1 of 4 things happens:

1. If we beat LeBron's Cavs in the playoffs
2. If LeBron goes West, and we continue to be a middle of the road team for the following 2 years
3. We win a championship
4. (Knock on wood) He dies

I think Rileys article was genuine when he said he wishes that he retired after the 2nd big 3 title. However now I dont think he will stop until he proves that he can win without Wade/LeBron.

Which one of his teammates will convince him to stay? An aging Tony Parker? All it takes is one bad season for the Spurs.

But the Heat never won anything without Wade or Lebron ( emphasizing Wade here). Before Wade we honestly where the Atlanta Hawks, a team that makes the playoff consistently but never is a contender. We tried but injuries and illnesses reduced us to be basically the Hawks. Nothing wrong with that.

Made the conference finals and won 60+ games before Wade. Wasn't Riley's fault he built a contender and Mourning got kidney disease. Wasn't his fault Bosh got medical issues too.
