Zach Randolph Appreciation Thread

Post#1 » by SD2042 » Thu Jul 6, 2017 2:57 am

As we all know now. PF Zach Randolph is now a member of the Sacramento Kings. He received a two year deal worth $24M. A well deserved contract for Zbo and not a price tag the Grizzlies wanted to afford. It was a case of parties mutually parted ways on good terms. Zbo was a player regarded as an afterthought after his stint with the then Portland JailBlazers. After two quick stops with the Knicks and Clippers, Zbo was traded to the Grizzleis for Quentin Richardson. A risky move by GM Chris Wallace to pull for the mercurial PF. The move paid off for both sides. For the Grizzlies, it was about redemption for the regular season and making a name in the playoffs. For Zbo it was about cleaning up his image and make good that he belongs in the NBA. As a member of the Grizzlies, Zbo was a member of the Grit-N-Grind Era that made a name off of defense and offense by committee. Zbo was also a valued member of the Memphis community. Thought doing charities for kids and paying MLG&W bills for those who were without power. Real gracious for someone of his caliber. Zach was someone who was the epitome of someone who had a chance for redemption and reimaging his character and his game overall. For that the Grizzlies fans say thank you to Zach Randolph for eight season with the Memphis Grizzlies. You will be miss around here. Be well with the Kings and best of luck the rest of the way.

Zach Randolph has been one of my favourite players to watch over the years (and his addition to the Kings means I'll be tuning in to watch them more than I did last year). I'm happy to hear of the plans for his number to be retired; well-deserved. He helped reinvigorate the Grizzlies and, along with Tony Allen, birthed the Grit-and-Grind style that I've enjoyed thoroughly.

Thank you Zbo for the good times. Its never been a better time to be a grizz fan than these past years. Since you came, you made us a playoff team so fun to watch. Remember those series against Spurs, okc and clippers. I hope we relive them sometime soon but to be honest... when will have more fun than that years that we won against the spurs being the 8th seed?

You are a hero for this franchise, it is so sad to see you gone.
"Take that for Data!"
