It's not about Bams size. It's about the fact that with Bam at the 4, and another mobile big at the 5 instead of Babbitt/Bam 4/5 is that by adding a 5 we become so much more physical.

If we are going to win it will be because our bigs overpower teams. I would prefer to have more bodies than only JJ, Bam and Hassan since McBob and Haslem don't really count. Having a 4th big will be so important over the course of 82.

Bam will most definitely be a 5 he's only 19 he will be too big once he finishes growing and strengthening to be a 4 we couldn't have combinations of Bam and Whiteside at the same time I don't think. Guards will force a switch and punish those matchup's way too easy.

Every time I watch us play Goldenstate Curry destroys Whiteside by getting him on the switch and just shooting over him because Whiteside can't guard him up top. I think people overestimating Bam's mobility we have to remember this is the summer league once Bam's up against the elite players it will be a different story

The issue isn't that Bam will be too big. The trend toward small ball is because of an increased emphasis on 3 point shooting and perimeter defense. It just happens that big guys tend to not have those skills.

I agree that Bam needs to prove he's mobile enough to play NBA players on the perimeter. He also needs to significantly improve his outside shot. His development in those areas will determine if he and Whiteside can play together.

But all things being equal, size is still an advantage. The Warriors would be a better team if Draymond was 6'10

I agree time will tell we will have the depth to ease Bam into the rotation based on his developement.

Incentive based Dion Waiters contract. I'm sure Riley used all that "bet on yourself and then double down" stuff to his advantage

I think Johnson can settle on a 3 year $30 mil deal like Roberson got.

I think you're looking more at 3/40 but 30 would be nice. Hopefully we can get him incentive based like waiters?

Can someone explain to me how the incentive based contracts work against the cap?

It's not about Bams size. It's about the fact that with Bam at the 4, and another mobile big at the 5 instead of Babbitt/Bam 4/5 is that by adding a 5 we become so much more physical.

That is my hope, some how Spo can get Bam and Whiteside to click at a very high rate.

Right now on paper teams like Boston, GSW are at a disadvantage around the basket. If Mami can negate Love maybe Clevland too.

Not to be a defeatist, but we all know that's an uphill battle teams like GSW, Boston, the cavs are better teams , the fun part this year will be watching Spo trying to refine his System to beat small ball.

Mia use to cause turn overs to make small ball work, now teams rain down 3 pointers. Let's see if Spo can find a way to take some shine off the 3 pointer and control the boards enough to make 2 bigs a legitimate threat.

Someone else can probably explain it better but as far as I understand if it's something he did the previous year (or years maybe) then it's considered likely and counts against the cap. If it's something he hasn't done it is "unlikely" and thus doesn't count. I believe this can only be a relatively small portion of the contract though (maybe 10%).

Yea' if we only have money for one addition outside of JJ, it's likely not going to be a C. Whether we like it or not Bam's going to play a bulk of his minutes at C and not, for every rib in Spo's body, next to Whiteside

I think being he is 30 years old and was always a role player in his career, he won't get as higher offer elsewhere. I stand by my 3/30.

I love Haslem. Always have but he really should be coaching the team right now instead of taking a roster spot from a development prospect. He could have the same effect with a suit on. If he likes banging in practice then he can keep on doing that as well.

I think Mo Speights needs to be our first target after the JJ deal gets done. Opt in with Ellington, and then use spot 15 to add a wing (Evans or Mbah A Moute)

There's no "right way" to leave though. Bron was a major reason we have win 2 straight chips, yet Riley and a number of Heat fans are still mad at him. KD left as a FA, yet one fan shot up his jersey and Durant proceeded to be a villain. Fans and front offices need to stop being hoes and deal with it, no one gives a damn when a player is traded or cut without prior notice.

Sure there is. Just tell them right up front that you're gone. WTF changed in Utah, Boston, and Miami, since July 1st that changed his mind about where to go? Did Brad Stevens just get hired? Did Butler just lose in the 2010 tournament and create this unfinished business that suddenly needs attending to? The man had at least a full season to think about this.

If you know that you're leaving ... leave, and quit dicking the team you're leaving around, and screwing with their ability to move the hell on.

I read a report somewhere that the Jazz traded for Ricky Rubio because Hayward had encouraged them to do so. If true, that is a Lebron level dick move.

If you're leaving, just say goodbye and **** go! Your future is not the only one that needs planning.

This is why I'm a firm believer that you offer a guy an extension, and if he doesn't sign it, ship his ass out.

Not sure why Haslem, or anyone at this point would even threaten to go to the Cavs. That's like threatening Publix that their sub lines are too long so you're going to subway.

incentives are probably related to his shape, he probably needs to meet certain metrics the heat have set out, weight, body fat..

we are holding up on JJ for gay? see if we need to fit them both in or jut handle jj, my guess

^if only reason jazz traded for rubio way hayward, ouch.

we better keep UD, most important player on our roster,
