I was always good with this plan. I think we should be trying to work the trade market now to alleviate the glut we have in the back court.

If we went with what I said a 2 + 1 TO, if we decline him in 2019, could we resign him above the cap because of Bird Rights or would we be renouncing his rights if we declined his option?

I'd give Johnson 2 years 35 million or 3 years 45 million. As much as I love the guy he isn't worth huge money.

McBob as a backup Center/PF is a great fit when healthy. The issue everyone has with him is that he's never been healthy. 3 years and we can't get a nice string of games with him where he is not hurt. I think all Heat fans are just worn.

On another note, I could see him blow up like his Charlotte days with this being his contract season.

JJ's getting somewhere around 15-16. Ellington get's his 6 for this year and Babbit cap hold stays to maybe sign him to a cheap bird rights deal. Now we look to spend the room exception on Rudy Gay or Weed.

A healthy McBob is the perfect starter on this team...as much as it pains me to say it.
I actually could see him doing well this year and then is not being able to afford him next season LOL

Dragic/Johnson/?
Waiters/Richardson/Ellington
Winslow/J. Johnson/White
McRoberts/Babbitt/Adebayo
Whiteside/?/Haslem

McGruder is a bum, let him walk.
Bring back Reed if we can and sign a vet PG...go to war with this roster...

what about ersan, I think that he would be a great stretch 4 next to Hassan

I could see jj get a 3 year deal/40 mil deal and give out like a 1 year, 7 mil-8 mil deal to ersan. renounce eillington, we could then try to resign reed or another backup center with the mle or give it to ellington on a longer deal

whiteside/bam
ersan/jj
winslow/mcruder
waiters/jrich
dragic/tj

nice mix of veteran depth and young players, not winning a chip but fun/competitive team in the east

well have a lot of cap in 2020

The team absolutely loves McGruder. I say we start dangling J Rich with McBob's contract and see what we could get. Ellington deserves to be the backup two guard with McGruder learning another year before he takes over full time.

There's no reason for JJ to accept that mess. That's basically an invitation to leave.

J-Rich has potential to be a 6th man or even a starter in this league.
Not McGruder...

McGruder also cost much less and wont complain about playing time. Ellington is going to want to play decent minutes going into his unrestricted free agent year. Only path i guess is to have J Rich and Winslow duke it out to play SF but I would like to avoid having to go undersized again at SF.

It's funny as hell that we have come full circle, Mia always has a reclamation project on the roster, and this year he was already there... the guy they need to rehabilitate is McRoberts
