Come on, man. I know pride is everything to some, but you can't really believe that?. You root for your team to win, and when they are contenders, it's that much more thrilling, enthralling. The best player in the game on your team, regardless of the narrative of his career, what he's about, etc., would have you do that, you would tune in every night, and if you wouldn't...well.... :eek1:

And it's not like he's a bad person, the only reason anybody can really hate him is because he busts your teams ass. That's fair...but to say that your basketball team is so holy that you wouldn't want him on it because he thinks about his legacy and molds it how he deems.....that you wouldn't want one of the most unstoppable yet the most unselfish GOAT level player of all time......... :-? I think you're speaking from your heart rather than your mind, and I get that but I don't think any logical person would believe it.

Larry bird said it best when asked about lebrons big 3 in Miami: " I wanted to beat the lakers not join them"
Plus We want to win, so why would the Celtics trade elite prospects and assets for a guy on the wrong side of 30 and who is arch rival? We'd make the cavs better (cavs are in the same conference) and shorten our on span of contention. Lebron is getting old

think Boston should do is just wait it out and trade for Davis, thats the home run that puts them in contention with GS.

have you not watch the Warriors in the playoffs the last 3 years. Warriors usually don't get injured. It's the team that they play against that gets injured.

I guess you missed Bogut, Iggy and Curry all hurt in 2016...smh

I'm looking for the quote where Kyrie said he "wants out if Lebron leaves". I'm just seeing another report about unidentified sources saying what Kyrie is thinking. So, again, source?

So, Michael Kaskey-Blomain said that Joe Cowley said that Jimmy Butler said that Kyrie wants out if Lebron leaves. Basically the same as Kyrie saying it himself.

Harsh much? and calling LeBron selfish doesn't make sense.

To be honest, LeBron would fit very well with this Celtics team. Though he wouldn't ever join the Celtics...

With all due respect, you cannot say things LBJ has done (such as the 30 min Decision ESPN special) can be construed as anything other than selfish.

Plus you read into rumours that Lebron will leave Cleveland again if the Cavs/Gilbert won't give him a Dubs beating/challenging supporting cast, and it's hard to say that Lebron is anything else but an egomaniac. I really hope he stays at Cleveland post 2018, or i think it would irrevocably destroy his legacy tbh

Please dude. If Danny Ainge could get Lebron James for a song and a dance he would drive to Cleveland and pick him up himself. Lebron is one of the most unselfish players on the court and would fit perfect into whatever Brad wants to run.

It doesn't matter either way since it will never happen but Danny wants to win and that's all he cares about.

Dude Lebron may be unselfish but he has the ball in his hands 80 percent of the time. He would completely ruin Stevens's offense.

Then he will want Stevens fired and want to have them sign all of his friends. When they don't win, he'll claim he doesn't have enough help and the franchise has no future and he'll leave.

Celtics offense right now < Celtics offense with LeBron F****** James

This is clear as day for anyone that isn't delusional. IF you have the opportunity to get the best player in the league, you do it. Especially one as intelligent and unselfish as LBJ.

Not necessarily... another shot at the title isn't something to be pissed away. No such risk for Indiana.

Also consider the media is being used as leverage to pressure Gilbert and pave the way for future options. It's up to Gilbert to figure out how to do better than putting washed up one-way players around James, Love, and Irving; or they've got little chance to beat the W's.

You just said it yourself...their team as constructed isnt gonna beat GS so if they hold the mtng and Gilbert comes out and says look we tried to keep LB but he wuldnt commit so we did what was best for the franchise...nobody can be mad at Gilbert

We're still a year away and a lot can happen to change the status-quo. If James wanted out, he'd just discretely asked to be traded, and the Cavs would say thanks for the O'Brien. He's holding Dan Gilbert's feet to the fire because he wants the Cavs to find a way to bridge the gap between themselves and the Warriors.

The Cavs are not a player in free-agency until other teams have exhausted their cap space. Then after that, their biggest card is to trade for Melo, and/or sign Wade after a buy-out. Maybe see how Cedi Osman performs if they don't trade him.

Then we've got to see what they can do on the coaching side to better prepare the team, and get them to defend better. Whether Kevin is integrated even further in to the offense, and whether Kyrie elevates his game. Tristan needs to get back to playing like himself.

But that's just what we're expecting/hoping... they may make moves which are completely unexpected - with unknown results.

When LeBron left last time, the Cavs got knocked out in the second round (not the Finals). There were no players even close to Kyrie or Kevin, so joining CP3 & Harden or Paul and Ball is not a clear step-up (at this time) like joining Wade and Bosh was back in '10.

So, it's premature to give up on the guy who declared “I don’t plan on going nowhere, I don’t have the energy to do it again.”

If Dan Gilbert knows LeBron is leaving it depends on if he has a chance to win this year. If he thinks he does, he should keep him. If he thinks he doesn't he should trade him.

Ok, that's covered.

Do you remember Cavalier basketball from 2011-2014? No one would willinlgy go back to that. Im surprised Gilbert doesn't sell the team beforr Lebron leaves and the value tanks.

Yeah. A team lead by an electric score first PG that could put on a show any given night but ultimately had no shot at winning anything.

Good luck to the Blazers this year.

lol I will gladly take Lebron on my team.

It is something to atleast somewhat consider though for the Cavs to maybe trade Lebron. All the signs point to him likely leaving again. Lebron is obviously not saying it nor will he ever but again to me like the Paul George, Lebron when he first left Cleveland, Durant leaving OKC, they all seemed likely they were going to leave. If I'm them, I would possibly take a look at what teams are offering. Yeah Lebron gives the best chance for the Cavs to win another title but I give them a solid 5% chance if both sides are healthy if they much up again because I feel Golden State will be even better next year and the Cavs made zero moves in the offseason and Lebron is another year older. So yeah getting to the finals is amazing and all but if the Cavs feel like they can't win against GSW and then lose Lebron for nothing, you will then be stuck with a disgruntled Kyrie and a very treadmill team alongside Love.

But anyways I don't see this happening at all lol and the Cavs are just going to play it out. I find it dumb when organizations feel shocked their players left or want to leave like George, Durant, and the rest because the writing is on the wall. Do something bold or play the game that can possibly set your franchise back for years.
