I'm in the minority from Celtics land but I do Bradley or Crowder whichever philly desires for Holmes in a heart beat. If Philly is sold on Bolden being for real they can afford to move on from Holmes

I'd be surprised if Philly doesnt think of Saric as a part of their core (alongside Fults/Embiid/Simmons). A playmaking stretch 4 who doesnt kill you on the boards or on defense is pretty rare. If it doesnt work out with him and Simmons, he's probably the 1st to go, but as is, I wouldnt sell him for Crowder (and i think pretty highly of Jae)

Just prefrence imo

yeah I think its preference/team building that would prevent something like this from happening. On paper yes Jae is better than Dario and Jae/RoCo in the same lineup would be a lot of fun and very versatile. But if this team is finally starting to build toward something team comradery is a part of that. Also in a perfect world Saric is playing the Simmons Lite role on the "night shift" (what Sixers people refer to as the bench unit). So while Saric doesn't necessarily fit with Simmons that is not an issue for this team as in the perfect case scenario they aren't even playing together. No reason to not expect Dario to be in the yearly running for 6MOTY if this thing continues to evolve the way the people around here expect it to.

Until Fultz becomes a reliable defender (hopefully soon for you guys) you need wings that could cover for him more than a backup while we need a rebounding big that could work in BS system so I think it's pretty perfect
Bet with Stillwater Celtics will finish 6th or higher in ECF Standings Regular Season(17-18). [WON]

Crowder does knock down 40% from 3. He's basically a foward version of JJ Reddick except he can play defense.

On a team that plans to play Ben Simmons you need all the shooting around him you can get. And both of these GMs aren't afraid to make deals it seems.

Saric's shot may never come around and he'll be an "eh" backup big then. But for the Celtics as a team in need of bigs that seems like the right move. Also seems like another trade where Philly takes more from BOS then it gives out.

This deal almost makes too much sense to happen.

Holmes is a good bench big asset too, but he's not under team control for very long.

Neither is Bradley though, I think Holmes starts opening night on Boston actually, especially given how poor future hall of famer Zizic has looked to date

Which is why I doubt philly does it. Celtics fans are setting their sights a little too high imo

What about this?

BOS trades / PHI receives:
Avery Bradley
Jae Crowder
Jordan Mickey

PHI trades / BOS receives:
Dario Saric
Richaun Holmes
Robert Covington

Why this trade works for the C's:
Sheds salary to sign Hayward and picks up pieces for a run. New lineup:

PG...IT/Smart/Rozier
SG...Brown/Tatum/Hayward
SF...Hayward/Covington
PF...Horford/Saric
C...Holmes/Zizic

Why this trade works for the Sixers:
Acquire pieces that fit better around core. New lineup:

PG...Fultz...Bradley
SG...Redick...Stauskas
SF...Crowder...Anderson
PF...Simmons...Mickey
C...Embiid...Okafor

What do you think?
My Dream Team
PG...Magic Johnson...Steph Curry
SG...Michael Jordan...Kobe Bryant
SF...Larry Bird...Elgin Balyor
PF...Tim Duncan...Hakeem Olajuwon
C...Kareem Abdul-Jabbar...Wilt Chamberlain

This would be a dream for the Celts. I would throw in rozier, Memphis pick even on Boston's side to get it done. Hell if Philly wanted to do Bradley and Crowder for roco and s aric, let's do it.

Dario could be great in a Stevens system. This is the kind of low risk upside move that could catapult Boston into contention without moving a Brooklyn or even laker pick.

Only makes sense if they think they can't afford Covington which doesn't make sense to me because they'd have to use that money on Bradley instead.

You can argue Saric has higher upside (I would disagree with this), but Jae is clearly the better player right now.

And signed for an extra year

Nope.

Jae Crowder $6,796,117 $7,305,825 $7,815,533
Dario Saric $2,422,560 $2,526,840 (TO) $3,481,986 (TO) $4,791,212 (Q/O)

Just like Jaylen Brown, Saric has 3 years of rookie contract left and then a Q/O and restricted rights.

Philly In: Avery Bradley (or Crowder?)
Philly Out: Richaun Holmes, Jahlil Okafor, 2 2018 2nds

Boston In: Richaun Holmes, 2018 Min 1st (lotto protected)
Boston Out: Avery Bradley

Atlanta In: Jahlil Okafor, 2 2018 2nds (BKN and LAC/NYK)
Atlanta Out: 2018 Min 1st (lotto protected).

sixers get AB for now and have his rights to try to keep him for the long haul. they bring bolden over now to fill the stretch big (richaun's shoes) and bring the latvian guy over in a year or so. (could do crowder instead?)

boston saves roughly 7 mil, gets a rim protector, gets a future mid-late 1st all for a guy they may have trouble keeping next season.

atlanta seems to be in full rebuild - they have 0 centers so they take a chance on jah in a new home. they get the 2 2nds next year as opposed to a possible late 1st, and if not conveyed eventually 2 2nds.

Psh, they can keep Jah as far as I'm concerned. This move saves enough money to carry Yabusele on the roster this year for big man depth who's more suited to the modern game than Jah is

Maybe we all learned from Ainge and Colangelo that deals between the Celtics and Sixers can actually be reasonable for both sides because I've got to say - these recent discussions about BOS/PHI trades have been so much better and more reasonable from both sides than the last three years of back and forth.

I'll do this
Can u add saric for crowder too
So for AB and Crowder we would get Saric Holmes MIN 1st round pick and save space

Well let's be honest here, in hindsight a Brooklyn pick for Noel was slightly more than Noel's worth league wide

As was No. 1 for No. 3, Lakers pick unprotected, Kings pick unprotected, and Saric.
