It's not AB for Saric its Crowder. And funnily enough the only people in this thread saying were setting our sights too high are mostly Celtic fans

Re: Crowder To Philly
what about an old page out of the Hinkie/Ainge book?
Crowder and Bradley for Holmes, 2018 Philly 1st (top 16 protected, if not best 2 2018 2nds), and the rights to swap 1sts 2019, 2021.
Philly gets deeper. 2 legit 2 way players, one set for a pay day, one on a good contract.
celtics get a cheap rim protector and potentially another minefield of picks. they're banking on the signing of hayward would keep them a top the sixers for the next 4 seasons - outright, but also that the sixers will just break the 7/8th seed with the trade and they get a top 20 pick. they also clear $15-$16 mil

I would do that 100 percent but Saric instead of PHI 2018 pick?

I like the trade too, works for both sides. But there's no FEDS without Dario so idk.

Re: Crowder To Philly
No from Philly. I have zero interest in providing the Celtics a decent 4 or 5 and I don't like the value of the deal.
If they need to salary dump to bring in Hayward, then we'll figure out how to squeeze out a roster spot, but I have zero interest in sending Saric or Holmes north.
IMHO. The Sixers are about 1 season away from being a real problem in the Atlantic and 2 seasons away from being the same in the East.
Time is on our side.

Re: Crowder To Philly
I disagree with all my fellow Sixers fans who want to trade Holmes and Saric to put Covington on the bench for Crowder.

Not really. As a Sixer fan, I don't know why Saric's name comes up in any of these particular conversations and by no means do I consider Dario untouchable overall.

Two words. Jahlil. Okafor.
You gotta give something to get something. Your not getting Crowder for Okafor.
Might be able to work out a Jordan Mickey for Okafor.

Avery Bradley is gonna get a good contract, the Sixers could use him at SG. Fultz and Bradley would fit well together. Anyway, Boston needs cap space what would be fair. Stauskus, Holmes, or Korkmaz and a pick might be fair for a rental of Bradley. Not sure if a fair deal can be found, Sixers and Boston are not good trading partners.

Re: Crowder To Philly
I really like Crowder, a terrific 2 way wing. Ainge has an excellent eye for wings. But the problem with this acquisition would be that we already have Covington slotted in at the 3 who provides alot of the same stuff as Crowder. I accept that Crowder's contract is a point in his favor but it is possible that Covington's contract can be front loaded this year, thus lessening his long term cap hit.
The best long term fit for the Sixers is Bradley, becasue apart from Redick's 1 year deal, we do not have a backcourt partner for Fultz. I would suggest the Sixers not make this trade and approach Bradley next when he reaches UFA.
In saying all that, I think that Saric, Covington, Holmes etc are available but it would have to be a definite upgrade at the 2 or 3 long term.

Someone that knows the new CBA, can Covington get a ton more this year than next year? Thought it couldn't only decline by a certain amount.
Also, I like RoCo and Holmes for Crowder because he'd be an awesome fit and they're both buried with RoCo about to get paid a lot. Could put Smart in it too for a few good 2nds from Philly and really save money for Boston.

If you go with the renegotiation and extend, it can decline by up to 40% from this year to next and 8% annually after that. So the optimum structure we've been discussing assuming a contract extension around 60 million over 4 year is you give him a raise to $20 million this year, then his salary next year is $12 million and declining 8% per year from there on.

Yeah that's really good for Philly. Didn't know it was that much. Where is Phillys cap now?
