Interesting target because he is a pure PG and not a combo guard. He is most high profile player in Europe. I believe he could definitely be a starter in the NBA.
But not sure if it is wise to spend all of our MLE on an NBA unproven PG when we already have Beverly.
I think he opted out of his contract with CSKA which would have gotten him 4 million euros net. so $8million a year is pretty much the same if you account for taxes.

Big fan of Milos. Amazing facilitator, but not very good defense. Pairing him with Beverley should help cover some of those deficiencies.

Don't get too attached, guys. Doc's going to screw it up. He wants Rose.

I know nothing about this Milos dude. had to look him up and he is a career 38.5% shooter from the 3, and has a A/TO ratio of 2:1. I am intrigued.

If he has no defense, he loses some luster immediately with me, but please HELL NO to DRose.
ehhhhh f it.

One can only imagine if we trade for Cole Aldrich and have a guy like this feeding him pocket passes in the pick and roll much like Prigioni did 2 years ago. Put them together with an energy guy in Harrell, a shot maker in Williams, and a glue guy in Dekker and you have yourself a decent bench unit imo.

Scouting Reports on Teodosic

Post#9 » by Ranma » Thu Jul 6, 2017 3:34 am

Rafeal Uhara, BasketballScouting.WordPress.com (6/23/17)
The six-foot-five combo guard is a magician who combines genius passing with above average gunning — excelling both out of middle high pick-and-roll and as a secondary shot creator. He also tosses breath-taking passes in transition, which could materialize more often in the NBA due to the higher level of athleticism he will have around him.

Given his height and 196-pound frame, Teodosic offers some flexibility on defense, at least in the sense that no matter where he’s put he’ll be a negative contributor, mostly because of his lack of athleticism, though his general level of engagement is what’s questioned more often. Because of that, Teodosic isn’t always a good option to finish games, despite of all the value he adds on offense.

I’m not one for raising up concerns about intangibles, given the lack of available information regarding how these players behave in settings closed to public consumption and just how they think overall, but Teodosic’s general demeanor on defense draws the assumption that he just does not gives a [expletive].

I also try not to overvalue appearances in single-elimination games but it must be brought up Teodosic was part of several teams that endured a number of EuroLeague Final Four failures during his tenure at CSKA and that his performance in many of these instances were consistently disappointing, before breaking through with a title in 2016.

Christopher Lavinio, HoopsHabit.com (4/20/17)
How would you describe Milos Teodosic’s game?

AB:
“Miloš Teodosić is a point guard who can control the game in many ways. He can be a pass-first point guard, running the pick and roll and finding his teammates for open looks consistently. But if teams give him the room and opportunity, he can take over a game by scoring too. It’s not who he is naturally but he’s an incredibly intelligent player on the offensive end, he always takes advantage of whatever the defense gives him.”

What would he bring to a NBA team?

AB:
“Teodosić could be arguably the best third guard in the NBA. He knows how to run an offense as good as anyone and could make other teams fear back-up point guard stretches. He could also play off the ball and alongside another playmaker, similar to what he does with CSKA when playing alongside Nando De Colo sometimes. He’s able to do this because he’s a great shooter and can attack off the catch.”
...

What are some hurdles you see Teodosić having to face if he indeed makes his way on a NBA roster this summer?

AB:
“He’ll have a slight schedule adjustment as the NBA season is a little more grueling but that shouldn’t hurt him that much. What he really needs to improve though is his defensive effort. Being a bad defender is a part of the game, but being a lazy one is inexcusable. Teodosić has shown stretches of disinterest on the defensive end and you can get away with that in Europe at times, but NBA players will always punish you. If you don’t play both ends of the floor in the NBA, you’ll play no ends of the floor soon enough. It’s as simple as that.”

So he's the Euro-Chris Paul, but without the defense...

...I'd rather have D.Rose.

Will the real Ricky Rubio please stand up! That clip is my first time seeing this guy. If he can transfer his game to the NBA level we've got a very exciting player on our hands, be it for the Clippers or someone else.

Maybe the thinking re Rose/Rondo is that we can't rely on a rookie PG from Europe. That being said I'd much rather take a chance on a Teodosic/Beverly/Williams/Austin rotation than add Rose or Rondo to the mix.

Teodosic is an exciting player offensively, but I'm just not sure if him being an 'exciting player' will translate into actual wins.

Done Deal and Positive Twitter Reactions

I might get some flack for giving West credit, but remember, he wanted to draft another "Showtime" passer in Jason "White Chocolate" Williams for the Lakers. I'm not saying Teodosic will be at that level but he could be a good playmaker off the bench for us even if his defense is lacking.

He's up to the task of playing in LA. Could be the biggest star in LA next year.
