I agree... Turner was a good fit for the previous regime... which is now dead.

I can see Portland sending Harkless to NYK, giving his minutes at the SF to Turner. However Portland is going to need sweetener to do that, which means the Knicks taking Leonard and either Houston or NYK providing some sort of pick.

I think this is a pretty strong proposal. I could see Portland pulling the trigger on this deal, or something very similar

That's also probably close to the right value, I suspect that Portland might want to include Vonleh to NY, and take the 2020 pick. Thoughts?

the pick has to stay with the knicks. Knicks aren't trading Melo for Leonard and Harkless. They need a pick sweetner.

If Portland wants to keep Crabbe over someone like Leonard. Then they aren't getting a pick back thats for sure.

Knicks have no need for Vonleh either.

It's not like Portland is surrendering value. Anderson in a heartbeat over Crabbe. Portland can't afford to pay Vonleh next summer which is fine because Vonleh isn't.....good. I'd rather have Onuaku and he's cheaper.

I just don't see it for NY. They're going to take on a longer deal (Crabbe, Anderson, and Turner all have 3 years left to Melo's 2) for a clearly inferior player in order to get...a guy who was just the #26th pick in the draft? A late 1st rounder in 2020? Another bad contract?

If I were the Knicks, I'd rather keep an unhappy Melo than do virtually any of the deals proposed here.

I don't think Ryno and a minor asset for Harkless and Myers is bad at all if I'm portland. Move Aminu back to SF (he can function as the four on offense, as Ryno stretches the floor like a perimeter player) and you've got a ton of spacing there. Ryno and Nurk would be beastly on offense

I think getting a smaller bad contract on a young player, a fine contract for a fine young-ish player in Harkless, and a first is enough to just hit the restart button for the knicks. This melo thing has become a toxic situation for them, though maybe that changes with Phil out

I'd say that I am intrigued, as a Blazer fan... But, I have to be skeptical about the reporter's credentials, and doubt the validity of the rumor.

I suspect you are right that Portland would WANT to do that. I think that if you are looking at Melo's current contract vs the ones coming in, Melo is only on the books for AT MOST 2 years, likely will opt out with CP3 this summer. If Portland is getting out of Myers, then NYK is going to need some awfully good reason. I think this is a long shot, but I could see Portland feeling that Noah is better for the team than Myers and Turner.

The value to NY is too low since not only does it not improve the product on the floor, but it also creates more cap problems.

Look at the contracts coming back and how the players fit roles. Nurk and Noah make a fine C rotation. What role does Turner play effectively?

What does Myers do? Is he a starter? Is he an above average b/u?
I think I have an easy argument that Myers and Turner have greater negative value than Noah alone.
