Because you say so?

Carter started for a playoff team in the Grizzlies just last season. Not entirely out of the realm of possibility of it happening, especially with Joerger coaching, who is very familiar with Carter and Randolph from his Memphis days.

No, just think they would rather play younger talent. I believe VC will play a minimal bench role, maybe 15 minutes a night and will be transitioning into a coaching/mentoring role with a younger squad. I think it was a smart signing by the kings but I don't at all think it was to be a starter or major minutes player.

Disagree. I think he likely signed there for playing time and money. He got both. They can infuse the young talent but Joerger wants to win and I won't be surprised if they go heavy with the vets to begin the season and when it eventually fizzles out, will go younger. In my opinion, if they would rather play younger talent, they wouldn't have signed Hill and Randolph, who will be taking a big chunk of playing time. They'll be good mentors, but if you think they won't be playing much, I gotta disagree.

The biggest difference is usually good franchises with good coaching and good personnel can reel in a players talents and use them to the best ability to help a team.

The Milwaukee **** Bucks have a hard time doing that with their All-NBA talent.

Yeah because they sign them mid year or to bargain 1/2 year deals. That my point, of Milwaukee signs jax to a 3/30 deal or whatever the **** it was he knows we will suck and he'll just cash in. Those dudes who could come good would only come to us for way over what they are worth which is exactly why we should stay the hell away from them.

Think most of these guys simply do not have the options available to these type of contracts you're talking about and going with the team who can maximize their abilities is why they're choosing the great teams.

Poor Brooklyn, that team chases RFA's and just gets boned. Now that money is tied up and the end result is nada for them. Maybe when the dust settles we can ship off Henson for a 2nd. That would be a dream come true although Brooklyn, like everyone else, knows Henson is worth a bologna sandwich and a half eaten bag of cheese puffs.

Did anybody watch any of the Utah playoff games? I saw a couple of 4th quarters and it was Joe Johnson fest. Did Iso-Joe get them there? No. Is Iso-Joe one of the elite players in the game? No. Why the ... was Joe Johnson getting isos down the stretch? I bring this up because it was very Buck-like. At that point I was thinking Hayward should get out of there, he did. Utah picking up "Iso-Joe" was painful to watch and an insult to all the Jazz players.

You guys are arguing over semantics. He's gonna play 15-25mpg like he has the last four depending on how his body holds up. Does it really matter if he starts or not if he's playing the same amount of min? Even if he started and played 30+ min, his body wouldn't hold up and he would have to sit a few more games so the minutes will even our.

I like the signing for the kings. They had minutes to fill and why not bring in a vet to teach the young guys some moves. hield will still get his 30 mpg.

That's exactly my point. Arguing that this signing is bad for the kings young crew development is wrong. I think it's a great signing for a largely young team.

They had one of those chemistry years last year and have now locked in a bunch of dudes of long deals. Time will tell if it's a bad move. Feels like it is and I feel we have plenty of knowledge on bad deals to mediocre players.

What the hell is Pat Riley thinking?

And who's running the Knicks right now? Quick, we need to get on the phone and try to make some trades ASAP!
We're going to turn this team around 360 degrees.

Miami could have really improved this off season to go along with their amazing finish last year. BAM was a good pick though.

The NBA (and lesser degree MLB) have some contracts that are staggeringly dumb the day they are signed.
