can someone give me a quick rundown of how JJ could get 15 mill, and Olynyk get 12.5?? I thought our space was smaller than that

Today after dropping from Falcon's Fury face first I read that Ryan Anderson was coming to the Heat along with a Houston first that would never be lower than 20. That seemed like one of the dumbest trades of the off-season.

I prefer that we signed Olynyk than made that dumb trade. And McRoberts is gone anyhow. Here are Ryan Anderson's numbers:

2017-18 Contract details by year age 29 $19,578,454
2018-19 Contract details by year age 30 $20,421,546
2019-20 Contract details by year age 31 $21,264,637

Here are Olynyk's (my guess that there are no incentives, although I think that to get the numbers for Ellington that there are some twists):

$11,627,907 (age 26)
$12,209,302 (age 27)
$12,790,697 (age 28)
$13,372,094 (age 29)

Olynyk is a decent frontcourt passer, and he's not soft at all. Two seasons ago he was hitting 3s at over 40%. He does seem a bit clumsy to me with his arms.

I want to know what we'll do with A.J. Hammons. I liked him in college. We need to give him some development.

This had to happened. We have to make the play offs these next four years or else we are looking at the embarrassment of a NJ Nets situation with our 1st round picks to Phoenix. The Dion deal was perfect. JJ it was expected. He will be what 33 at the end of the contract not really too bad. Olynyk don't love it don't hate it but if they didn't spend that cap space correctly now they'd have lost it next year when TJs contract balloons. So you add another solid player.

They need to have their best performance next year and send a chitty pick to Phoenix.

Most of these contracts will be over by the time the 2021 pick is due, so who knows what the team will look like then lol

You don't divide by 4. Remember they get 5% raises. The starting number is smaller.
