How anyone will be putting time, energy, or money into this team in a few months is beyond me.

All of the possible flexibility over the next 3-4 years is completely gone. Any chance to land a top FA to try to pair with KP in the near future was just completely destroyed.

Overpaying a mediocre player and giving a FOUR year contract literally accomplishes the exact opposite of everything this team needs to do.

Maybe you'll see it in 2-3 years when it's already way too late. This is NOT how you build a damn competitive NBA team, do people even pay attention to what the successful teams do?

Phil was terrible this signing doesn't mean we should've kept the idiot. He did bring in Noah on what was a more ridiculous contract then this. He did trade Lopez for Rose on what was a mind boggling deal.

Don't need people to pretend this questionable move makes Phil look like a genius or something. He was an **** that didn't fix the Knicks and didn't destroy them. He just destroyed Carmelo. And as far as young talent all he did was draft a player with the 4th pick. Congrats. Let KP prove something first. **** even Isiah drafted us an Allstar (Lee), champion (Frye) and slam dunk champion (Nate). Let's slow our horses before we jump for joy for a guy landing in our lap because we had a terrible enough team to draft 4th.

Because if you arent and actually payed attention to this ridiculous franchise you'd realize that the hallmark of Dolan's reign is overpaying washed up/overrated players...aka it is something that goes beyond phil.

Phil did the best out of any previous GM in the dolan tenure...AND he was actually able to point the ship in the right direction by stocking talent, ignoring media pressure, and keeping draft picks.

The fact of the matter is that Phil got us a patrick ewing tier young talent + a solid core despite only coming in with 2 first round picks in 4 years. Dont even try to compare the trash that isiah got to what we have now.

You are a very wise man! THJ is only 25 though and made a big leap last season. He fits with our long term plans so I don't mind the trade at all. Also, if you average it out, we're paying KP, Willy, Franks, Dotson and Baker (5 core players) near the minimum so why not pay a little more for a 25 yr old who has shown vast improvement? The salaries will average out.
