Those 4 players better than him but i'd still consider them bad contracts.

4 year deal for THJR is so bad. Its almost J.Noah level bad. He still sucks. I'd rather sign A.Bradley or M.Smart next year.
72m for poor mens Jamal Crawford!
It can kill Porzingis era.

Fire Mills!
Bring a guy like S.Presti, Morey.

He beat Bazmeore for his job. Tf you mean all those players are better? When's the last time you've seen Tim play?
The only player out of those 4 I take over him right now is Oladipo.

Which game did you watch last year?
I guess he defended some bum and scored with %55 fg in that game.

He's not a good rebounder. Not good defender.
He can score but he's not efficient at all.

Just check his stats. He got slightly better in 4 years.
Go look at Otto Porter's stats and you'll see development.

You're overreacting on the type of player Tim Hardaway Jr. is right now & stuck on the Timmy that was here.

Good grief. This deal is just AWFUL.

He might have been the worst playoff performer in the entire nba the last two years. What on earth just happened?

The knicks are in really big trouble now. No cap space and no talent yikes.

Porzingis might actually leave...

In the 26 games this season that THjr was given between 30 to 39 minutes in a game, these were his numbers...

34.8 mpg
20.1 ppg
49.3% fg's
40.1% 3pt fg's
78.2% ft's
3.5 rpg
3.2 apg

Those are very reminiscent of Allan Houston's numbers when he was playing at all-star level and a pretty considerable sample size.

Here is a controversial argument. If you give THjr a high number of touches, he can shoot the ball better than KP

and while we're at it, what decent gm/pres wants to mess with this team now? No cap space, little wiggle room to work magic and a **** roster? Who wants to **** up their profile by working here?

Mills is the GM/President… or maybe we signed Hardaway because we'll trade next years draft for a new GM.

I think it's not so bad contract in the new NBA economy. He is a player who has a real desire to get better by putting hard work, is young and has some talent. He's developing into a legit scorer, not just a specialist.

A bad contract is for one dimensional "specialists" who are not really special in anything like Bazemore's $19 mil (God) or Allen Crabbe's.

While he may have been a rhythm player (aka those players who are only a factor when they knock down the first few shots and get really hot otherwise cold in most situations like JR or Dion) when he was in NY, but I think he's blossomed into a player who can work himself into the game when struggling by driving to the rim and get buckets.

I also see him as a guy who can play with or without the ball. Considering we will lose Melo, those skills are a big help in making plays, on the offensive end unless you want to see us score 70 - 80 pts a game.

I like KP, but he will face some struggles adjusting to the being the first option, and Frank may not be yet ready to contribute.

Plus he has the prototype SG size and length that make him not totally useless on defensive end, I think he hustles pretty hard on that end.

---

If I am to bank on a potential, I'd want to make sure he eats, sleeps and drinks basketball, the gym rat, the maniac gym psycho whose main obsession is to get better like Kobe, Lillard. And I think THJr is one of those guys.

I mean, his numbers especially in the second half of the year looked good..

But that's the case for a lot of guys.. because half the league went full tank.

No he's not, he's interim. I guess he's about to become permanent after this bull, but before this he was only there until we put one in place

I'm happy with Hardaway.

25 years old. Improved a lot last season and became much more efficient.

Why can't he be our future SG?

Allan Houston at the age of 25: 14.8 PPG / 3.0 RPG / 2.2 APG / 42% FG / 38% 3P / 80% FT (33 MPG)

Tim Hardaway Jr. at the age of 24: 14.5 PPG / 2.8 RPG / 2.3 APG / 45% FG / 36% 3P / 77% FT (27 MPG)

Hardaway Jr. has the same stats basically on better shooting while averaging 1.5 shots less than Houston did.

Why is everyone assuming that Hardaway Jr. isn't one of the most slept on young players in the league? He's a tremendous hard worker, he's got the athleticism and frame to become a star in this league. Why not? Sure his defense isn't stellar, but he's improved.
My lifetime better have a Knicks championship.

We ain't need to spend all this paper on this one-dimensional bum.

He does add an element to the game that we need. Team needs a reliable scoring wing. But could have just trotted Dotson out for all that.

The real crime is knicks fans who had this idea that the knicks would purposely tank. Where they do that at??? Lol

Also like I said before in other theads, KP does not want to lose and I am willing to bet anything he demanded the knicks keep the roster competive. "The direction of the team" is that he does not want it to suck. Alot of y'all kept talking about as long as KP gets better, he should not care about the team sucking around him. What professional athelete thinks like that ? Tim hardaway fits the whole young and in line with KP having talent around him. So yeah ya boy KP and Janis demands I am willing to bet anything help play a role in this offer sheet. Just because they knicks said they would like to go young don't mean they would not try to be competive.
