The knicks are all about making headlines. Can't make a big splash? Create one.

Do they actually think another cap spike is coming soon? did they forget about the cap hell this team had in the 2000's? When Phil was stupidly kept and then dropped at such a critical moment I worried this franchise would worry and panic but gosh this is dumb on so many levels. We couldn't even try to make the contract a decent tradeable if had be.

The thing is, the dude is rfa...if we offer a low contract, the hawkz will easily match. What I dont understand is why is it with a trade kicker again.

Hardaway is most likely a Melo replacement and not a Lee replacement. Yes fans are upset.

both better be gone.

You want to turn over the offense to KP and you would have 2 players who would shoot more than him.

Also you don't pay a guy 17 million not to start. So Lee is no longer a starter at this point.

"Good" will cost you between $17 and $18 million a year, like Evan Fournier and Tim Hardaway Jr.

That's the going rate today.

What can Lee realistically get us in a trade? First rounder from a "contender"?

I would not be so sure of that. Hardaway is still a natural shooting guard. Lee is as well. They can play "some" minutes at SF, but they can't rebound enough from that position and are slightly undersized for some matchups.

We still need a small forward to replace Melo, unless that is where Kuz and LT come in.

i dont like the signing and hope ATL matches but why are you guys so obsessed with KP taking the most shots, tho?

handing over the offense to him doesnt mean "shoot 30 times, Krstaps!"

Timmy is 6'6 (no shoes?) 205 lb. Could be a small ball SF though I dont know how he would fare against SFs strength-wise

Maybe they are thinking a small good shooting lineup in certain situations...mixing up big/small lineups...?

That is the old version of Hardaway Jr

New version of my Hardaway Jr isn't just a spot up shooter. He can shoot off the dribble now, there is video of it.

He also aggressively goes to the rim now, there is a lot of video of that too.

Oh, and his physical gifts? Dude hit the gym HARD last summer and gained definition, basically transformed his body. I am pretty sure even Mike Been commented on it during an MSG broadcast of a Knicks-Hawks game.

He may not be great, but we are not paying him to be great. We are paying him to be good, like Evan Fournier-good.

Dude, people here live in the past. If they follow NBA games they would have seen Timmy start taking over games for Atlanta. This Kid is going to score an easy 20pg in Hornacek's offense.

Dotson can get some nice minutes behind Timmy and if he translates, the Knicks are set in shooting guards for a while.
Hopefully, we set at the 4, 5 and now 2.

Lee is the starter at SG which makes this sad. If Hardaway was taking the starting SG spot id be happy.

Dude, Lee is gone. No way Timmy's team advises him to sign without a starting opportunity.

We could have done Vince Carter for a short deal and kept flexibility for a rotation player. We have a lot of young ones.

Courtney Lee is over 30. Tim is 25. Lee will most likely be traded for something to a contender. People are so dumb saying they won't watch the Knicks over this crap. Is it a slight overpay? Yes. But Timmy is an efficient scorer at a young age who has improved a lot since he came into the league. Looking at the people in the range of his money, he's better than a lot of them including a guy that's on the team currently. Y'all need to take a chill pill.
