Didn't Suns just drafted that guy?

Ahem..

Josh Jackson shot 37% from 3pt line thank you very much.

And about Tyreke... I was implying other teams... Knicks, Spurs even Jazz.

People are ridiculous with this Jackson can't shoot stuff. He can't shoot free throws and his shot is ugly. Ball shot is ugly but it goes in more than Jackson's. Ugly shot and can't shoot are two different things. People get a tag line and just run with it, following the crowd......

James Johnson, Kelly Olynyk, Dion Waiters, Tyler Johnson have signed for over 50% of their cap in the next 4 years.

They'll win 20 more games than us this season but I take rebuilding over treadmilling.

you're either the Cavs/Warriors/Spurs, treadmilling, or rebuilding.

If teams (Dallas) were willing to help the warriors land Durant, teams won't be turned away here.
Worst case, they lower their asking prices for the 3 guys being floated around.

If you are the Hawks - what is better

Hardaway for 3+1 maxing at 71m or Knight (44m for three years) and a possible first round pick from OKC through Minnesota and Utah?

Just saying ,if the Suns take the Cole Aldrich contract as rumored - that's a good chip to flip. Suns could get the expiring Belinelli and other players that are expiring.

He's been BAD with us. I get it. If my team was bad, I'd take a gamble on him. I think his career will turn around on a different team.

When the Wizards - probably match for Otto Porter - the Nets might be open for Knight

When the Hawks probably DO NOT match for Hardaway, they might be open. There might be a very small market for Knight.

I think the Suns might be able to move Knight and it may only cost a first rounder acquired like for Aldrich or from Milwaukee

Takes a pay cut lol

I think I read the Celtics are like 500-700k from being able to give Hayward the max deal right now without moving Bradley, Rozier, Smart or Crowder. My guess is the Jazz want more than just Crowder and cap filler for Hayward, they want a 1st round pick p- and good for them.

Ainge will be able to trade a player like Smart or Rozier to get the 1m bucks needed. But my guess, teams are playing a bit of hardball with Danny Ainge. Crowder and Bradley works for Chandler Danny (only if we flip Knight and can flip Crowder - I think I would want to keep Bradley)

Are you sure that's right?

This should explain in detail: https://moorebasketball.com/2016/01/19/how-it-works-the-waiver-procedure-and-contract-buyouts/

You can negotiate protected compensation (guaranteed money) on the remainder of any deal and that amount is included in your team cap like a normal guaranteed contract.

Yes and no. There's a reason there seems to be a standard type shot mechanic; It's easily repeatable. You can have a 'nice' looking shot, and still be inconsistent because you have a hitch in it. (ie Goodwin). From watching a recent video of JJ's shot, as a former (small time) College ball player/coach who was your stereotypical shooter (literally told me not to dribble lol), JJ has a hitch in his shot that hurts his consistency, he's not fluid in his free throws (in game shots are better because you get a rhythm in your shot during a game that you don't in free throws).

JJ's shot is 'ugly' because of his hitch, and that hitch make him inconsistent, muscle memory lacks because that hitch alters things ever so slightly. Ball, on the other hand, has an ugly shot but it's fluid and, when he's set (terrible midrange off dribble pickup) is very repeatable (for him).

All that being said, I have faith in JJ, I'm not saying it's terrible, some players can get that stuff figured out, but to say ugly =/= bad is a bit shallow. It's more involved than that.

Zach Lowe mentions it again the Raptors are trying to shed salary and that is either JVal or Carroll -

I will put it out there again, I think Chandler for Carroll and Poeltl - Chandler help the Raptors, Poeltl fits the timeline; Caroll rolls off in two years. Same as Chandler - but the Suns might get the long term Center in Poeltl

If the Raptors are desperate

If the Raptors want the Suns to take JVal - they are taking Brandon Knight - as that is a wash

WojBomb

Marcus Morris to the Celtics for Avery Bradley - good move by the Pistons

BPA. Ideally - its a Center but do not pass up the best player. The NBA has evolved and its about my best 5 guys beating your best five guys

Booker, Jackson, Chriss, Bender - ideally in fact it would be a point guard who can distribute and defend or just a great shooter or a defensive 5

So world is the oyster

This should do it. Celtics needed about 2m if they renounce everybody -- so Jerebko - and now can sign Hayward to the Max while keeping Crowder and Smart

Interesting trade. Celtics get the cap space they need, but they gave up a very good back court mate for IT with his shooting and defense. Is Marcus Smart going to be able to fill that role, or will Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum get some more minutes?

Does this mean that the Pistons will let KCP walk this offseason? Or will they play together or something..? That could bode well for the Nets, since they're one of the teams that is frequently linked to throwing contracts at RFAs with their current draft situation.

Good point -- so the Wizards match for Otto so KCP should hold off on anything as the Nets will overpay

Come on Nets - take Knight with a future first - you know you want it?!! :)
