it's actually a 3 way trade, Bradley to Detroit, Marcus to Washington, Markieff to Boston, but nobody will ever know the truth

I'm guessing Crowder still gets sent to Utah for Hayward. Can Morris play any PF?
I was wondering if they did this so they could move him to utah as part of the S&T
Could be. It depends on who Utah prefers.

Wow detroit did well on that one. Marcus morris is also one of the leagues biggest punk bitches so just removing him from the team is a win.

Had thought that the S&T with Utah fell through. Obviously you have to prioritize fitting Hayward under the cap, but I have to imagine there are better ways of doing it than selling Bradley + Crowder off for cheap. Although it also might not say much about those guys' actual vs. perceived value and reinforce the "Ainge always trying to low-ball offers" theory.

Bradley I could see not having the value that many fans think with him expiring and wanting to get paid, but Crowder on the other hand, has to have a lot of value in the league, I would think.

I would too, which is why I don't understand the S&T rumors. There's no way that they wouldn't be able to find some team who'd fork over a lottery protected 1st for Crowder.

They probably don't want to send him to playoff level teams in the East, maybe that is part of the problem? I'd give up Hawes and our first for him.

We should do a three-way with Grizzlies and Celtics. The Celtics need either Monroe or Gasol. The Grizzles need young talent. We need Mike Conley and everything Boston's giving away (Jarebko, Smart, Crowder, Bradley).

Guys, the Crowder/Hayward S&T doesn't need to happen any more. Celtics need to clear 300k so they can just waive Jackson, stash Yabusele another year, or Hayward makes the painful decision to take 300k less.
Sucks that we couldn't get Crowder. If we didn't re-sign Snell immediately, we could offer a waivable Hawes/Vaughn/Payton and a first. Then we'd have a much better player than Snell on a much cheaper contract...

I'd rather have Jackson than Payton II.

There are still plenty of interesting players in Utah and with Ainge needing to get under the cap to sign Hayward he thought just maybe he could wrangle something. He was always going to get value out of any of the three and he was never going to trade more than one of them. He wasn't going for a straight salary dump.
I think this means he needs to stash Zizic or Yabusele (probably the latter) for another year though.
Morris has been really good for the Pistons and is under contract for 2/10.4M. That's an amazing value. The problem is that they now have Hayward/Crowder/Brown/Tatum/Morris at the 3. You can probably spread into the 4 with some of them but that's a ridiculous logjam.

Boston is really thin at center unless they have some small ball plans or plan on bringing over one of their stash guys.

I wouldn't call Marcus Morris "amazing value" when you're giving up a much better player in Bradley to acquire him.

Under the new CBA, Crowder for Henson works (175% of outgoing salary + 100k)! Let's do it!

Seems that the current plan is Zizic as the backup center. They're going to get absolutely molested on the glass.

That is somewhat amazing, given in the first half of the season, Piston fans were ready to max him out. Now they don't even want to wait to see what kind of offer he is going to get? Must know he is going to get a big one from the Nets and just don't want to waste time I suppose?
