I think we'd only sign 1 of KCP/Porter. As others have said it's in KCPs best interest to see if Washington matches because he could possibly leverage Nets for the biggest possible deal, though I'm sure some team like Utah may be angling to get an offer in before we know. If we want him that bad we could probably clear enough room to offer him before the resolution to the Porter offer sheet.

The one saving grace is that the Knicks can't get him either because of the THJ deal. Hopefully we give him a verbal offer and he's ok with waiting

Hopefully KCP can wait or he doesn't take less to play for a team work more talent.

Here the Nets strong culture - their fresh vibe and appeal as JLin says - also helps. It seems like every young RFA if given a choice is leaning towards the Nets whether it's because they know they will get playing time. Great player development. A friendly positive locker room or whatever,

Everything else aside, I was slightly more excited for a KCP addition than Otto addition.... again maybe my mind had a different roster at that point.

From what I understand we can sign KCP to a 4/56 flat and Detroit can't match. I'm not a fan of KCP but that's a pretty good deal. I think this the best direction to go

They renounced, so they no longer have that right to match.

Is it going to come down to who is more petty (in drawing out the time to match)? Hawks (re T Hardaway) or Wiz?

I'm hoping we negotiate with kcp in hypotheticals, telling him what our deal would be if Porter is matched. If kcp is smart he'll wait til Sunday where he has a clearer picture.

He's not getting 4/72 unless that's a last resort

I think he'll get 4/58

just got to hope if we're targeting KCP right now that a team like ATL doesn't come in and snatch him while we're waiting to hear from WAS.

Either one of these guys will be a huge boost to our team for the next few years. Porter > KCP, but I'll definitely take KCP here. Especially at 4/75 range.

Damn, i think we might have played ourselves now. We're sitting here stuck playing this game with the Wizards when this guy just got renounced. I'm kind of pissed now.

Look at this from KCP's perspective...would you sit there and wait, or take the best offer that comes to you within that six days time?

he's not going to wait. The Nets just got **** ed.

This is my dream come true

I won't blink twice if we miss out on Porter now

KCP running with Russell, Lin, & Levert is legit heaven
