I agree 100%

I really hope he sticks on the roster. Cant wait for summer league to see what our boys can do.

Peters looks like he already has nba range on his 3...Not only that his release is so fast. That quick release time compared with his efficiency....

It just looks like if you set up a PnR with him and toss him the ball the defense wont be able to recover before he gets his shot up.

Summer league hypeeeee

Many tall big men who are stretch shooters are average in release time... but Alec Peters is quick... as quick as Ryan Anderson and Kevin Love by comparison... in my opinion.

Didn't we already draft a tall white guy who could shoot the 3 named Alec a few years ago? Here's hoping he doesn't face the same fate...

Video shows his nice shot. It also shows he was projected as a first round pick. I think he was great value near the end of the draft.

Big differences are;

Brown is a better shot blocker due to length but slow footed. He's also too skinny so he cant park himself near the key and protect the rim because he just gets boxed or pushed aside easily. His shot release is not bad but slow compared to elite big men shooters.

Peters moves like Kevin Love a bit... There I said it. A slightly smaller Kevin Love or a bigger Dudley.

His shot release is crazy quick for his size and he can launch a jump shot off turn arounds off of one foot and he has agility and below the rim moves.

I'm probably over hyping him... But main reason is because of today's emphasis on perimeter shooting and ability score from jumpshots and open looks rather than isolation or individual talent.

I just see a real potential due to his ability to get a shot up.. At worse he'll be drawing defenders out.

Bender is supposedly as quick as Curry according to SportScience.

This kid is very skilled. He is a very smart player with an excellent shot. One exec said that he will be one of the best three point shooters in the NBA the moment he steps on the court. He is a very good rebounder, which usually translates, but he is 6-9. So he is a smallish pf. He will be a classic stretch 4 in todays NBA. He is sound philosophically with his defense. He finds the right spot on the floor. His athleticism might limit him defensively.

Peters accepted a 2 way contract with the Suns. Actually a little surprised he took that now instead of making the Suns cut him and see if some other team would give him a spot on the 15 man roster then go back to the Suns on a 2 way if he struck out.

Now it might have been a case that this was prearranged on draft night and the suns took him with the agreement that he would take the 2 way contract. I think teams at the back end of the 2nd round were doing that.

taking a 2 way is guaranteed income, guaranteed playing time/ team involvement.

I dont know what the $ numbers are, but I think they get the NBA min for the time they practice/play with the big leagues, and a D League deal else wise. Perhaps a better option than going to europe/china/etc.

Are Two way deals are the first step towards a true minor league system? Seem so

Maybe if he went to a top college he would have been a first round pick, I never even heard of that school. I'm not sure if he sticks around after this season, but it all depends on where his head is at and how quickly he learns.

At first I was very surprised by this comment and then I realized it's been almost 20 years since Bryce Drew and Valpo brought down the 4 seed Mississippi Rebels in the first round of the NCAA tourney. It was called "the shot" and it's brought up at the start of each year's dance, I believe, as one of the shining moments in NCAA history. But yeah, they don't have a lot of representation in the NBA. In fact, none come to mind for me, and I've been following college ball since the 60's.

Havent seen him play before at all but that is one quick release, nice form too. Unfortunately he looks like he can barely jump, as if he was weighted down. Can't see someone else besides Dudley getting by in the league relying on athletic hands...

I hate to use this comparison but he looks like Kevin Love. If he has a high mental IQ, has the motor to grab boards, I could see him getting some minutes for us if we were to trade Tyson Chandler. He has a very quick release and that 3 is money. We could use a floor spacer.

He looks like an extremely unathletic version of Kevin Love, wouldn't a better comparison be a better rebounding version of Teletovic?

His quick release is pretty ridiculous tbh
