Here is the problem for Miami for the next 4 seasons....



[*]This was an very unusual move by Pat Riley, which makes me feel he has one foot outside the door.

[*]Pat Riley builds teams to win now, this team can't get past the 2nd round.

[*]After seeing GSW destroy the Cavs, I felt Pat was going to hang it up sooner than later.

[*]The last two offseasons have been hard on Pat with No Durant, Lost Wade, & No Hayward. I am not saying it wasn't financially beneficial for our team not to sign Wade but it had to hurt an already open wound left open from Lebron.

[*]What really is odd is overpaying players that would normally be bench players on most playoff teams, instead of signing Wade for 2 seasons. Now we have these bench players for 4 seasons.

[*]The game is changing and Pat Riley is just making sure we have a competitive team for the next few years with tradable contracts but not a team that is able to win even the Eastern Conference. I doubt he sticks around much longer to see what happens

don't be confused Cavs ( old Pat model that LeQueen brought to 'TheLand')
while the GSW ( building talent from within, sprinkle with Old Pat model of bring ring chasers & getting lucky on timing with KD)

his response well he changed the dynamic of the roster... with versaltity and depth to hand it over to Spo..
notice how Positionless basketball which Spo is one the innovators...

Hey f off with the bandwagoner...I have been a Heat Fan since day 1 of the franchise. There wasn't a Miami Heat team when I was born and raised in SOUTH FLORIDA and I still have probably been to more Heat, Dolphins, and Panthers games then most of the posters on this board. HelI, the only team you can call me a bandwagon of are the Red Sox and that is because I didn't enjoy baseball until I moved to Boston. I have stuck it out through the worst years of this franchise and will continue to stick it out with all my Florida teams besides moving to a different state. Something that a lot of people do when they get careers that take them from place to place. Hey, but I am sorry you can't comprehend the fact that Heat Fan's live around the country and the world.

The moral of my post before was that Pat Riley is going to eventually step down in the near future, I can't see him sticking around more than 2-3 years, he is 72 years old. Pat is giving Spo a team he could work with but not necessarily win Championships with. A team he could use as trading pieces in the future for Superstars. But at this current time this team cannot compete with Lebron, no team in the East can and obviously that means this team can't compete with GSW but at least it's a team with pieces ready to move the only problem now is there is just no cap room.

fsuizzy - Every time you take a shot at Pat its like a dagger in my heart. I have been a fan of his since the late 70's, early 80's only stopped when he went to the Knicks. Many people want him to retire but when he does people will only then realize how lucky we were to have him.

He is one of 3 people i always wished i could sit down & talk to, have a few drinks & just hear his story's. Him Stan Lee, & Hugh Hefner.
