Fox looked so damn smooth with the ball. Wow. As said multiple times above, if that kid just gets a jumper. He should take out an open call, "I'll give 5 million dollars to someone who can get me to shoot 38% from 3, at volume".

By about mid-season, I liked Fox more than any of the other PGs in this class. That's partially due to me only being able to watch Fultz play maybe two times all year. However, he consistently displayed two things that allow PGs to thrive in the NBA: 1.) a very quick first step and overall elite quickness and 2.) he finished well around the basket.

If he's already displaying veteran-esque playmaking/floor general chops, then I feel even better about him being my favorite PG in the Fultz/Ball/Fox/DSJ debate.

Of course this is the summer league and five years from now Ball and/or Fultz may be all-stars and Fox may be out of the league, but I've always been extremely high on Fox.

I like Fox too, but my two fav players in the draft were/are DSJ and Tatum(who we got).. So I'll go with DSJ as the highest ceiling, imo. Dude has Westbrook type athletic ability and was under the radar cause of the injury his senior year.

The things I didn't like about Lonzo will continue being there- I don't like his athletic ability, it's average if that, his length, and his speed. He can probably improve his strength which is also a problem imo, as he's skinny af. Was skeptical of his shooting form but he's made his shots in his career so that and his passing should probably be there.

Let's make it just a game of probability
what's worrying for Lonzo is that the other four top 5 picks are looking very good.

what's the chance that at least one of them (or even two) will be a bust/s or underwhelming? very high.
After all, when is the last time all the top 5 picks lived up to the expectations? It's unlikely

Having this mind, now it's only a question of identifying the "bust potential" among the top 5 and Lonzo appears to be the frontrunner even considering his lack of athleticism, doubtful shooting and defense
There's still the chance that this draft has been an anomaly though, so let's be optimistic :)

2012: Austin Rivers (10)
2013: Victor Oladipo (2)
2014: Elfird Payton (10)
2015: Emmanuel Mudiay (7)
2016: Kris Dunn (5)

Dunn & Mudiay are the most recent prospects dubbed with the John Wall comp and both have been a bit underwhelming. Hopefully Fox can break the chain and make a name for himself. I don't think he has that nuclear athleticism that guys like Wall/Westbrook/Rose has, but he certainly plays with alot of poise. In fact, I think his mid-range game at his age is farther along than his predecessors at their times. At the bare minimum I see prime Devin Harris, and maybe even the upside to be Tony Parker-lite if all things fall right.

None of those guys can even dream of being as quick/fast as Fox. Also none of hose guys are craft with the ball there really not on the same tier as Fox athletically

Jackson shot the ball 17 times to get 18 points. I don't think this game was showing of why the Lakers should've picked him instead of Lonzo(no knock on Jackson)..

Oh and I said it when LaVar had the racial comments(not being able to win with white guys)- TJ Leaf could have a better career than Lonzo. I still believe that.

Russel Jackson and Ingram is far better than what they have now. That is the whole problem.

Fox needs a shot doctor -- zero rotation on his jumper is utterly ridiculous.

That said, he looked fantastic.

Give Fox Luke Kennard's shooting ability and you'd be looking at a future HOFer.

I never realize what an ugly and bad 3pt shooter Lonzo Ball is. Maybe those scouts were right by saying he is another Ricky Rubio passer and shooter.

If you want to argue probability: the individual probability of Lonzo being a bust doesn't increase if the other players picked in the top five aren't busts.

Thing is I don't think he is as good of passer or has Rickys bball iq. If someone handed Ricky a team and let him hustle create as the #1 he would be an all star. Ricky is just a much better game manager and pick and roll player.

Lonzo can always go to the Euroleague and still make millions if he can't cut it in the NBA

The Orlando summer league thread had only 10 pages total for the entire span of the tournament. How does this have 29 pages already? lol

technically they are independent events
but given that the probability of all 5 being all-stars is close to 0, I feel like he's the most likely to be the underwhelming prospect

I'm sort of making a prediction beforehand with hindsight so the starting conditions are not equal (It's like I know already that the other 4 will be better). As a consequence he's the most likely candidate for that "bust spot" which has almost 100% chance to happen

The problem with Ball isn't his shot, even if he is a good shooter in the future I don't know if this will be enough to make up his game, he sucks in a lot of things, and his passing skills are overrated.

You can put just 10 options in the poll, Adebayo would be 11.

He shot 35% from the field.

41% through the first 3 games. The 8am clunker at the end was a poor game for him...

He also was consistently rebounding and blocking shots as well. And his jumper, while not refined yet, looks smooth and natural.

Don't draw too many conclusions from that 35% number...
