It seems like swapping out Melo for Kevin Love is not making CLE better to go against GSW; it's lateral. The talent gap between GSW and CLE still remains. IMO, CLE needs to ADD talent to compete with GSW, not replace it. Make them work on defense the entire 48 minutes. Melo off the bench accomplishes that if Lue manages his rotations well.

Cle should add TT,and get CHandler...

:dontknow: and right there clearly illustrates why I'm not in Basketball Operations.

Seriously though, I want young players on cheap contracts and/ or a 1st round pick pick (regardless of where it is). 32 year old Melo AND being a Knick is just not getting you a nice haul.

I know it looks ridiculous and 4 team trades are unlikely, but I think it helps every body some.

http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=yb2asabn

Houston out: Anderson, Taylor, Quarterman
Houston in: Melo

Portland out: Harkless, Davis, Napier, Connaughton
Portland in: Anderson and protected first from Houston to help move one of their other big contracts.

Denver out: Faried, Mudiay, Barton, Miller
Denver in: Lee, Napier and NY 2nd (earliest is 2022)

NY out: Melo, Lee, 2nd rnd
NY in:
Faried (trade next off season as an expiring if he doesn't add value)
Harkless
Davis (wave)
Barton (doubt we will have the $ to resign him so maybe move at trade deadline)
Miller (wave)
Mudiay
Connaughton (wave)
Taylor (wave- don't know anything about him)
Quarterman

This deal is some what flexible as NY could take on a bit more money and if Denver wanted Back up at SF they could take Thomas or Kuz, but I assume they would prefer the cap space.

So I'd be looking to move Thomas, Kuz and Randle.

So something like this to start the season:

PG Mudiay, Ntilikina, Quarterman
SG THJ, Baker, Dotson
SF Harkless, Barton, Thomas
PF KP, Faried
C WHG, KOQ, Noah
2way Kornet, ?

Rather deal Melo to CLE for the basically the expiring contracts of Frye, shumpert, cedi and maybe a pick

Same. At this point, between CLE and HOU, whoever offers a 1st round pick (and doesn't have us taking on an Anderson-like contract) should get him first.

I'd love to be a fly on the wall when D'Antoni is talking to a confidant. Wonder what he thinks of potentially having Melo forced on him again.

Wouldn't mind CJ Watson on a 1 year deal. He was just waived.

Dont know if this was mentioned earlier, but how about bringing back Derrick Williams (probs for the minimum). He played well for us, and seems to fit the new vision of this team: young, athletic, can run. I think he'd do well off the bench in Hornacek's system. Horny talks a lot about getting buckets in transition, and thats definitely something DWill can do. For the minimum, I'd definitely take a flyer on him, plus he played probably his best ball for us. I was actually pretty upset that we let him walk (even tho he did opt out) and went with Kuz instead. He's currently working out with Brickley like LT and Timmy...and Melo

Lebron is not going into the next season without making some changes on the roster. Lebron wants Melo therefore the Cavs will give up Love for Melo.

Reggie Jackson should be a knick

Post#1719 » by MadGrinch » Wed Jul 12, 2017 12:56 am

in the wiretap there is a story about jackson being traded for e'twuan moore and alex ajinca.

even if it isnt true the knicks should be beating down the door of every team willing to deal a decent point guard , and jackson is a decent fit .

he can play point guard until ntilikina is ready and since the knicks just gave hardaway jr. 18 mil. for 4 seasons lee is very expendable

after ntilikina is ready to assume starting point guard duties jackson can be an offensive minded 6th man or play in a 3 guard line up because both hardaway jr and ntilikina are big enough to guard the next position up.
Its because I'm green isn't it?
