I don't really think there's a lot of good reason to say Phil drove down Melo's trade value. CP3 is getting a protected pick. The market for getting a good pick has definitely thinned out, if you're trading an older guy.

CP3 was a free agent, etc., but he's still one of the better PGs in league history (statistics wise) and he's not very old. The Rockets had a big incentive to keep him from another team, and get him themselves, and they still only gave up a lightly protected pick.

Melo's contract status kind of goes both ways some. He's a little overpaid probably, but only 1 or 2 years left. I don't think his contract is a negative but it's not a positive necessarily. He could be seen as a rental who can get you over the top.

Y'all do know Harden extension will probably look like Currys contract. He deserves it though.

Glad he's producing. Hope Cashman isn't dumb enough to trade our youth away in a gamble to make to make the playoffs this year.

lol. i argued with a rockets fan about the very prospect. mother **** really thought we were dumb enough to believe that jimmy leaving the rox was a legitimate excuse for morey not trading an unprotected first along with anderson's bum ass for melo.

It's their own damn fault for giving Anderson all that dough. Now they're stuck with him and are goink to have to trade Ariza and probably Gordon to get the necessary assets to entice us to make this deal. Maybe we can enlarge to include Lee.

Lol, there's no point of trading for Melo if Gordon or Ariza are going to be part of the deal.

Cleveland gets: Carmelo Anthony
Knicks get: Eric Bledsoe and Jared Dudley
Phoenix gets: Kevin Love

it works salary wise and I would do it. Bledsoe and Dudley both have 2 years left. Bledsoe gets 15 mil per year and Dudley 10.

Bledsoe
Tim Hardaway Jr
Lance Thomas/Jared Dudley
Kristpas Porzingis
Willy Hernangomez

That team sucks at SF, but, that team is probably good enough to compete and make the post-season, especially with how I think Bledsoe would fare under unchained Hornacek, which would as a result really benefit KP and Willy in the P&R game, and leave THJR open a lot on the weak side. and I'm getting to the point where I want Porzingis, Willy and Frank to be apart of a semi-winning culture, and experience making the post-season. I think with the Kyle O'Quinn and Courtney Lee contracts, we could still find a way to pick up young assets (either players or draft picks) while still keeping a competitive and functional team culture.

Even if that team were to stink somehow, I would want to pull the trigger on that deal just to get Melo out. I don't think he's good for KP and the young guys.
