Though the fine is probably a joke to him, it's good that they addressed it with him now. I'm glad they punished him before he really did something stupid.

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

I don't really understand how he gets a fine for that. Completely detached from the NBA the way I see it.

Yeah. Ultimately, they are trying to market the NBA to kids and obviously don't want players using inappropriate language.
I'm sure they will run into some gray areas with this policy, but this was just a small slap on the wrist. I doubt Embiid is too upset

I agree, but I wouldn't say completely detached. It's with another player's idiot father, so it is partially connected to the league. But I guess he is technically always representing the NBA on social media? As sixerscan said, it's a slippery slope.

I don't see how they legally have the right to fine him for his private use of social media. It isn't like it's an official NBA account. But Adam Silver is a lawyer and I am not. So he might know a little something I don't.

I'm less disturbed by his actual language than by his increasing general buffoonery. Get out on the court and bust some ... Stop that stupid clown'n ...

That slope started with the Sterling removal.

I'm sure we'll see articles soon regarding how the contract language is written affecting this.

The only people who find **** inappropriate anymore are uptight soccer moms. Notice more network TV stations are slowly allowing it onto their programming because they realize in 2017 no one cares about it anymore. It's another word for sex. It's not a racial slur, which were invented to be hurtful.
Plus, look how much fun and useful it can be!

Yea I'm sure Silver has his ducks in a row. He seems like a really smart guy. It just doesn't seem right or just to me that they can do that.

The fine really must be for swearing about ball and not actually swearing. Players swear and don't get fined.

Actually that's another good point. All in good fun so who cares but that doesn't seem too far off what embiid did.

To this point, just after Hayward left Gobert then went onto Instagram live and flipped off the camera. Lol.
