He's just missing...it is not like he can't get it off.

disagree. He's having to rush it unlike in College and Pro. These aren't even high level NBA defenders either and he is rushing his shot which is leading to wild misses. He isn't just missing short or long. It's left, right, front rim, airballs, back rim. No consistency.

I feel like Ball is going to rush his shot so much in the NBA. Guys will get up on him and block his shot too.

Unbiased opinion here...Simmons focuses a lot more on getting his own assists, Lonzo is just focused on the right pass whether it's a hockey assist or not.

He can't shoot and he can't beat people to the basket. The back to the basket play is something that is intriguing to me because if he gets that into his game that will help him tremendously. Use his HT, and passing out of the post. He can be like a Mark Jackson and Andre Miller who also were G's who didn't have great footspeed. He just can't even beat Boston's bigs in switches to the basket.

Jaylen Brown is a guy who can get in transition and finish, proved to be a much better 3pt shooter off the catch than thought of and a plus defender when he wants. He needs to hone in that role. However, I understand what he and Boston are doing this summer and trying to make him a playmaker. He needs to work on those skills because clearly he doesn't have that at this moment.

How are you making these kind of definitive statements on Ball? He shot 40% + from three in college. Rondo wasn't anywhere near that. He shot 55% from the field. If your going to make definitive statements on a guy playing his second summer league game at least incorporate what he did in College.

I'm saying if I'm defending Ball as a coach, he's playing to pass. Make him a scorer. The difference between he and Rondo is Rajon was a much better finisher in the lane and much better athlete. Ball is a much better shooter but you still defend him and take away his passes and make him beat you as a scorer. It's quite simple. Ball can shoot when he's open, but I haven't seen him beat anyone off the dribble in 2 games.

I'm a Lonzo Ball fan, but his scoring is going to be interesting to follow. He took so many NBA distance threes in college and I thought maybe it was just because he could, but he may have had to take them from further distances because of his release, now he's taking them at the actual line.

He's missing a lot of open shots which he will eventually make more of, but it will be interesting to see the tracking stats as the year goes on.

He's gonna have to play small ball 4 to have that freedom, don't think he will be allowed to run mid post ISOs as a wing.

It's all relative. He's playing with less talent than he will have in NBA season, but so is the other team. The sad part is this is closer to the Lakers regular season team than most other teams in SL

Randle, Ingram, Clarkson and Brook Lopez. That is a significant difference from the talent level that Lonzo played with today...

Lol only players that will be on the regular squad is Kuzma? Maybe Zu?

Damn if Tatum got drafted by any other team he would be an all star from the jump.

Jaylen brown being showed up by the rook.. I don't think there's room for both of them.. wouldn't surprise me if they traded him.. you would expect jaylen to be dominating SL like Ingram did.. He's all athleticism with marginal skill at best...

Lonzo is a great passer, but he better find a middle game or teams will play him to pass only. I think the post up and finding a mid range game will be his best way. He isn't going to be able to get to the basket much, but he's 6'5 and can shoot over smaller guys if he fixes his shot in the midrange game. I also think him posting can be lethal considering he is so great at passing and if he can have a few go to moves in the post, to make people defend him there.

Tatum can score it, needs to be a little more efficient but I like Celtics culture and staff to cultivate that.

Zubac, Ingram played last night, Hart should make this awful squad too.

Tatum reminds me a lot of Melo coming out of Cuse. Both players were dominant midrange players. Had a resemblance of a nice post game. Both weren't good defenders and both were somewhat of a black hole. A lot of ISO play. Anyone remember how Melo did in summer league?

Agree.. biggest difference is Simmons goes "assist hunting".. whereas Zo is more of an "empowering passer" with his hockey assists and passing the ball up court versus quickly dribbling it up. You don't see that type of unselfishness from pgs in either era to be honest.. Even pass first pgs from both eras prefer to have the ball in their hands to set up scoring plays. Lonzo will give it up early as he trusts his teammates and he knows good things will happen more times than not...

Lonzo looked good but scared to take certain point blank shots, passing up drives to the basket just so guys could take contested threes.

When has a 1st round pick (Hart) not made the opening roster?
