That Cleveland trade sucks. And the Knicks have clearly said they want to go young. Free don't fit that. Either do Jefferson. So it won't happen. You think the cavs have not offers that yet lol or Anderson to the Knicks. The reason why it's not done is because knicks want young players to run in gun in horn system. That simple

Channing Frye knows firsthand the wisdom of Jeff Hornacek
By Marc Berman June 14, 2016 | 10:46pm
CLEVELAND — Channing Frye had one of his best and most enjoyable seasons in 2013-14, playing in Phoenix for Jeff Hornacek.
The Suns won 48 games as the surprise team in the league under the then-rookie head coach. Frye, now a Cavaliers reserve, reminisced about his season in the Valley of the Sun with the new Knicks coach.
“Great guy, great coach,” Frye told The Post before Game 5 Sunday. “I thought he did a great job of getting the most of a young team, being able to inspire guys to play hard on a consistent basis and put guys in situations where [they] could flourish and learn. He’s a defensive-minded coach, but also wants to makes sure guys are out and running and playing the right way.”
Frye, a Knicks lottery pick in 2005 out of Arizona, was surprised how easily Hornacek adapted to the job. Frye played four seasons in Phoenix, the last with Hornacek.
“He wasn’t like a rookie coach,” Frye said. “He’s wise beyond his years. I think he’ll do a great job in New York. He’s not worried about the pressure, not worried about anything other than winning and making his players better. He does a good job of being a player’s coach but also at the same time demanding excellence and playing hard every single night. I’d vouch for Jeff every day.”
Reinventing his game, Frye became a 3-point shooter who thrived in Hornacek’s high-tempo, pick-and-roll-heavy offense. Hornacek plans to run the triangle with the Knicks, but with spacing tweaks and more pick-and-rolls.
“We won 48 games, so he was doing something right,” Frye said. “Goran [Dragic] and I had the No. 1-rated screen and roll. [Eric] Bledsoe and Miles Plumee were doing great things. We were 10th in scoring for a team that wasn’t supposed to win 10 games. It was pretty damn good.”
At least for that one season. Frye left as a free agent, and the Suns lost other cogs that put them into a spiral that led to Hornacek’s dismissal last February with a 14-35 record.

they don't and they won't. they already have the highest bid without Love.
Knicks are not paying Melo $55 million over 2 seasons to suck and ruin the culture they are trying to develop.

If we don't trade Melo, how are we supposed to get shots for THJr? He'll be $70M wasted sitting on the bench.
We can sit Melo. He can warm the bench with his fat ass.

How is that depressing asf, bro? You're delusional. The team has more young talent than it's had since you were in diapers. All yall care about sharing the ball, I want to win.
We don't have a legit top player on our team once we trade Melo.
We're literally clinging onto Hardaway, Willy, KP and Frank as a young core.
That's depressing.
We have a potential cornerstone piece in KP who is 21. A very promising big in Willy at 23. We literally just drafted Frank who is 18 and we got an improving player in THJ who is 25. The icing on the cake is the fact that we are probably a lock to get a top 5 pick next year and that player could have a huge impact on the franchise.
Yet somehow this sounds depressing to you?
You talk about sharing the ball as if it's mutually exclusive with winning. Every single Knicks fan should want to see an unselfish style of Basketball. A brand of Basketball where we can ISO based on mismatches and instill an offense based on strong player movement.
Melo has been here for 7 years. And I fully supported the trade when it happened. To this day I have no problem saying he's one of the best scorers I have ever seen. But what does "we don't have one legit player mean" when Melo is gone.
Are you actually implying that this version of Melo after witnessing seven years of him is a "legit player." He's inefficient, has a terrible shot selection, plays zero defense, cannot run in transition (unless you call a trailing 3 running) and does not make players around him better.
All I know is this is by far the most youth that we have had in a very long time and to top it off we are fortunate to have all of our 1st round picks moving forward.
If that's "depressing" to you after all these years of being a franchise who never gave a damn about our future then I actually feel bad for you.
