The two-way deals are likely to be undrafted players or low 2nds who need a lot of development and will not have much of a chance at a regular call up since the money is a lot less as a two-way player.

I am liking this pick although I still would have gone with Evans.

Unless he's just god awful in Summer League and in camp, I don't see any way he's not on the roster. The Magic only have 9 guaranteed contracts at the moment. That leaves 6 open roster spots and 2 two-way slots.

When you take a guy at #33, he usually makes the roster and I think he will have a nice summer league to get one of those 6 remaining spots.

The real question in summer league is if Zimmerman, Georges-Hunt and Garino do enough to get their options picked up? I'm thinking Zimmerman will but am not sure so sure about Georges-Hunt and Garino.

I think Iwundu and Zimmerman are locks. That would put the roster at 11. From there... hard to say. Georges-Hunt and Garino are eligible for two-way contracts if they decide to go that route.

If they aren't going to be aggressive in free agency, then I think they might just keep Watson (even though I wouldn't) and maybe bring back Meeks on a 1-year deal.

I definitely think there will be 1-2 trades between now and the start of the season.

Georges_Hunt and Garino are the type of players who would be on two-way contracts. They are meant so they can develop players and not have an NBA team just take them off the D-League roster via a call up.

I think Nikola Vucevic is the most likely to be dealt and no options should be left off the table.

I will preface by saying that I have never watched a full game of his, only highlights. But with that said I really don't see the potential with him(offensively at least) that people seem to be seeing.
His shot, handles and playmaking all seem mediocre.
I do hope I am wrong on this though.

I can understand the skepticism about his jumper considering his percentages didn't really take off until he was a senior. But handling and playmaking? Those seems to be two of Iwundu's strongest traits to my untrained eyes. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Really good read!!! I still think this guy has untapped potential. dont get me wrong.... not saying that he's a star.... but he can be a great contributor to our team!

It did say Iwundu played PG in high school and I'm guessing did it at times at Kansas State. It appears he's played more time at PG than I originally thought or knew. So if we give him minutes at PG, he has the experience so its not like it would be a work in progress, he be ready to play at PG from the start most likely.

I would like to see Iwundu get a lot of reps at point guard in the summer league. Give him as much as he can handle.

If he can't handle it, no big deal. But if he can...

As long as he can bring the ball up the court and initiate the offensive play, then I think his defense on the opposing PG's may be adequate enough to garner consideration.

Yup. From what i've seen... he looks very comfortable with ball in his hands. If he can get to his spots with the dribble.... play the pick and roll (which apparently he is pretty good at).... throw in the defense and spot up 3..... i would say he can outweigh augustin's value at some point during the season. Quick 6'7" player with a 7'1" wingspan and 8' 9 1/2" standing reach can pose a fit for any pg in the league.... let alone bench players.

Iwundu has really good size and wingspan, he would easily shut down opposing point guards, shooting guards, combo guards and can still match up forwards. It be tough against Westbrook, CP3, Curry, Wall, Irving but he can keep them contained.

He has more defensive potential than actual skill at present. I think his tools have carried him at that end, but his technique is lacking. He doesn't get down in a stance and he leans forward, so he gets blown by with relative frequency. NBA PGs will carve him up right now.

If he really wants to be a great defender, Vogel should be able to turn him into one.

Thoughts on Iwundu's Summer League? I thought it was pretty unimpressive for the most part. The first couple of games seemed okay, but he didn't really offer much on offense the rest of the week. I'm skeptical of how good a shooter he is. He was okay on defense all week. Feel like he's going to spend majority of his season in Lakeland.

SL isn't really the venue for a guy like Iwundu to show out, but with that said, he was still underwhelming. Could have shot the ball better. But I'm not going to give up on him after bad SL numbers. We'll see what happens with him as time goes on.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

The big thing for me when it comes to Summer League is less about stats and more about "does this guy look like he belongs?"

Inwundu struggled offensively, but he never looked overwhelmed athletically or physically. Compare that to someone like Zimmerman who seemed like he couldn't handle the players he was playing against physically. That was a big red flag for me.

I thought Wesley showed some flashes of "oh THAT's why they liked him". Defensively he was fine. He did a few nice things in transition. Showed some vision on a couple of pick and rolls, but mostly struggled with his shot.

Don't think he's someone the Magic can count on for minutes right away, obviously, but there's enough there to justify his roster spot.

I think he'll fit well as a 3 and D. He has high usage in our summer league team. but he'll likely just defend on stand on corners during the season. I think he can contribute.
