Trade Aldrich and Bjelica to Spurs for Danny Green.
- Saves us 1.7m and gives us our primary wing player who happens to be 3&D. Spurs, after signing Gay and likely bringing back Simmons, they could use some bigs.

Sign Tolliver, Thabo, Brooks (1 with our Room Exception and the others to vet min).

Keep Burton and either Beacham or Cooke (whoever looks to be the better shooter).

Let Patton take his time to heal and spend rest of the time in D League.

Primary Rotation
Towns - Dieng
Gibson - Dieng - Tolliver
Butler - Wiggins - Thabo
Wiggins - Green
Teague - Jones

DNPs
Brooks (similar to Rush when LaVine went down, won't play much unless Teague is hurt and would start in that case)
Burton
Beacham (or Cooke)
Patton (Injury - G League)

This is a really interesting idea, that lineup is strong. I wonder is SA bites on that without adding picks given Bjelica health.

I think you have a good eye for talent, but the Spurs want to get by the Warriors too, so I find it unlikely they will trade Green, who can defend stars.

Green was only rumored to be available because SA was potentially going star hunting, that has passed with CP3 and Hayward gone

TOR has just traded Carroll and picks to Brooklyn. I guess it means that Aldrich to Brooklyn won't happen.

For people thinking we should use the OKC 1st to turn $9 mil of Cole Aldrich into cap space, TOR used their 1st and a 2nd to turn $30 mil of DeMarre Carroll into cap space.

Now that Brooklyn has traded Hamilton they can use a center. Aldrich and OKC pick for Brooklyn 2nd round pick which will be a very small drop from the OKC pick. Does Brooklyn have their second round pick?

They don't have their own 2nd rounder, but they have the Pacers 2nd rounder as long as Indiana don't make the playoffs.

A bit less attractive. Indy will be bad. Brooklyn will be atrocious.

It depends on what you get from Aldrich for cap space + 1st pick dump. It seems that Thibs considered this move only if we could get a big FA.

Trade Ideas thread

Frustrates me a lil... I was pumped for butler /Teague.. then I spoke up about getting paid to take Carroll from the raptors and getting paid by celtics to take Bradley or crowder.. ended up being Bradley. Which we still need.. I was laughed at.. I even said deng and randle wouldn't be horrible to get if they attach a pick with it... and sadly we get taj (who I don't mind, but not at this price) and still no depth.. no wing depth.. wish people would see that adding a star and the pg u want is enough for one year.. collect assets. Learn to win. We still isn't even close to not being swept by maybe 3 teams in the west.. 3 for sure.. would have much preferred to add those picks into the mix to keep looking for a stud to our soon to be super maxed out core.... in cool with current team.. and with thibs... but seeing as we are still buyers in talent, Carroll coming off the bench in our rotation would have been actually solid... gotta find a balance of now and future...

2-of-2 Clippers fans on their boards say they would love Cole Aldrich back, for the TPE they just got for Chris Paul ... no OKC pick attached. If ESPN has it right, your Chris Paul trade exception is $7,273,631. Aldrich makes $7,300,000. However, even though the ESPN Trade Machine disallows it, Larry Coon says you get to add $100,000, so this TPE just barely fits.

Since we are right at the cap, this TPE would turn into cap space for us, so we could use it on remaining free agents, if we haven't officially signed Jamaal Crawford yet.

How do I change my pic and name on this sight?

Do we even need the space now. Not sure I would just give Cole away anymore. It is an option, but the value of havig space might not be what it was earlier. Kind of a case of too little too late. I guess it all depends on who we could get from who is left, but the move is something of a big yawn.

I would rather have Dieng as a PF tbh. Aldrich really doesn't look too bad now, just gotta hope for a bounce back year with lots of energy, defense, and rebounds

We could still use the space to sign another wing, or it would look attractive to teams at the deadline to cut costs.

There are for sure a few guys still out there who would require 3-4 million but would be a lot better than the minimum guys.

Assuming Taj starts,

Cap allocation as of today:

~$30M on backup FC's (dieng/belly/cole/patton)
<$6M on backup pg/sg/sf (tyus/crawford)

Im not sure what plan Thibs has for Dieng but I would rather spend that money on a wing player(s).

First of all Dieng is not a backup FC so replace him with Gibson. Second of all if we trade Dieng for a wing we will be worse off at backup FC than we are at wing.
