expectations are the enemy of happiness
I don't think the players enjoyed it much either
anything short of the Larry was failure

50-win seasons meaningless
that's no way to go through life

From my perspective, we've gone from a team with very few players I liked to one with very few players I dislike. We're not a title contender, but neither was our old team. If we're going to ride the treadmill, I'd rather do it with this squad than the old one.

you know what?

I can't disagree. I haven't had anything that I could agree with you for years, but now this is your second post I have agreed with in just little less than a week. what do you know.

I am the same way know. I watch the Clippers, I watched the Dodgers and I watch the European soccer team I support. Other than that I quit watching sports (unless it is a really really big game).
I used to watch multiple games in multiple sports every weekend. I used to stay up late, or wake up 5 in the morning to watch NBA games in the late 90s, when I was a young kid living overseas. I simply don't enjoy watching live games anymore, unless it is the team I support. It is not worth spending 3 hours to watch mediocre plays and a whole a lot of commercials.

You mean if we keep our existing logo/uni design?

This is now all in hindsight, but I would actually be more interested in the board with more changes- especially with what has actually transpired, because there are actually possible moves and strategies to discuss. Had we re-signed everybody (including Redick), what would we talk about? We'd probably just complain about how Doc refuses to play the younger players, and then complain some more when he traded another pick for lackluster mid-season pickup.

It's actually kind of unbelievable how much turnover and change we've had. I'm looking forward to this season more than most previous years, even though my expectations record-wise are less.

expectations have a special way of changing perspectives. in the case of a sports fan, the paradox between having a strong team with high expectations and happiness can be absurd.

i have definitely observed clipper forums and fans changing as a result of blake being drafted, and the transformation was even greater with signing chris paul.

conversely, with his moving on from the franchise, i see that pressure of expectation being lifted, and also the resulting chance for fans to finally take a breath, and take things down a notch. when you aren't worried about winning as being the end-all, be-all, then it's a lot easier to appreciate the game of progress, which is actually the only thing that matters.

I only started supporting the team since Blake was drafted, but I'll still be here even if things go tits up. Its true that expectations have made things less fun. It hasn't been as fun since Vinny's last season tbh. Especially this particular highlight, even in a 4th quarter blowout it always stands out to me.

This is the most I've been excited for a season since A Tribe Called Bench. We have a mixture of vets and youth, but no one currently over 30 years old. It's nice to see a depth chart with mostly 20 somethings:

PF Blake Griffin (28) | Brice Johnson (23)
SF Danilo Gallinari (28) | Sam Dekker (23) | Wes Johnson (29)
C DeAndre Jordan (28) | Montrezl Harrell (23)
SG Pat Beverley (28) | Austin Rivers (24) | Sindarius Thornwell (22)
PG Milos Teodosic (30) | Lou Williams (30) | Jawun Evans (20)

We'll always be Clipps fans no matter what. I'm still going to games whether we're playoff bound or paper bag status.

-Actually looks like we're headed in the right direction tho

I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!
