Both Giannis and Thanassis are in.
Only Koufos remained out because he is trying to find a new contract and probably talked about it with the coach already.

First team meating is on 24 of July.

As far as I know, he hasn't yet confirmed his participation in the Eurobasket.

Well, he could take a little trip to Germany.

But I don't really know how I'll survive without watching him play.

Giannis was just included in coaches choices. None of these players are committed to join the team and if they have different plans they either make an announcement or call the coach to inform him either prior or after his calls.

Anyway I just can't see a way of Giannis not playing in the upcoming eurobasket though.
The new Coach(Missas) was the Youth Greece NT coach when Giannis was 18-20 years old and they have a wonderful relationship. I doubt Giannis wouldn't make a call first, before the coaches announcement, if he had second thoughts about it. Also for the first time in his life he has the chance to play with his brother wearing the national colors. It must be huge deal for him and his brother.

The only way I see Giannis staying in USA is the Bucks forcing him to do so in some way.
I just don't see that happening.
When I heard Kidd the last night in the summer league game interview he sound like he tried his best to change Giannis mind but he had none of it in the end.

Anyway Giannis is the MIP of the last 4 years despite joining the greek NT every Summer and even if he doesn't manage to improve his jumpshot in the next NBA season he will have a full free Summer to work on that in 2018 since we don't have any fiba tournament the following year.

Giannis really seems to love Greece and representing his country seems personally important to him every time he's asked about it in interviews. I can respect that, and from a development perspective it sure hasn't hampered him so far.

The only worrying thing for all sides in the matter is a serious injury. Imagine half a season with both Giannis and Jabari out...
True 76ers hell...

They have already played together last year. I was hoping there would be a better coach than Missas.

Anyway Giannis comes back to Milwaukee greatly improved every year. I start thinking all this NT stuff is good for his development. Maybe the rest of the team should start come training in Greece during the summer :D .

But I don't really know how I'll survive without watching him play.

The national team thing is 2-3 weeks, the Bucks off season is 21 weeks.
If he doesn't go I suspect it won't be for lack of time.

Isn't it like 1.5 month along with the preparation?

Also, I don't really care, I just mentioned that he hasn't announced he'll participate yet.

Potentially I guess, if he joins from the first day of camp (26 July) for training and friendlies and the team makes it all the way to the final (17 Sep). I don't think he has to though, lots of players in the past have kinda skipped a lot of prep and friendlies, and I don't think it's likely we'll make the final. Would be nice if we do tho :D

The first actual game is on 31 Aug, final is 17 Sep and NBA preseason starts 30 Sep.

Giannis' brother, Kostas, broke his leg(knee area) during a friendly game with Greece U20 NT and he will ofc miss the U20 eurobasket tournament!
Image
Thanassis officially signed with Panathinaikos and he will continue his career in Greece after a successful season in Spain.

Yeah atleast it's a simlpe fracture and not an internal injury like ACL and I think he will be totally fine in 1-3 months.

He was doing good during the friendly games.
Against Ukraine he had 7/10 FG with 3/5 3pts on 18 minutes
