I don't disagree with you. I've said it before and I'll say it again, the Knicks failed Melo far more than Melo failed them. Melo is the player he's always been although obviously now he's older and on the decline. It's just time to move on. Lets accept this disaster of a package Steve Mills is going to get and continue on with the rest of our lives.

They are literally acting like dude is straight trash.

The organization is terribly run. Melo made some mistakes but I've always appreciated his game. It's a disgrace what has went on for the last few years and how Dolan let the face of the organization talk down about Melo.

Okay, but, that's in the past. I think we all agree that the organization handled it terribly. At the same time, we know where we need to head. Instead of dreading on all of that, what's wrong with being excited about the future?

S**t happened. None of us agree with it. Why keep talking about what went wrong? It's over. We have ever reason to be excited about the future. And you know what? That includes a deal shipping Melo out. Not because we all hate him. But because it's a step towards the future.

We had a choice a few years ago just to let Melo sign elsewhere, or not offer him a NTC and maybe he would have. We would have gotten nothing.

Anyway, if we come out of this deal with an asset or two, no matter how trivial, it is actually sort of a win in a twisted way.

I mean not really, since there was an opportunity cost of having him on the roster the last few years, but, it's not a total disaster (well, not yet... let's see the trade).
