All we're going to get is Ryan Anderson, aren't we?

I believe that there are two iterations of this trade. One solely with the Rockets which is already agreed upon in principle and a second one with a third team such as the TrailBlazers who are bashful partners. If we can't get the third team to take Anderson then we'll take him ourselves, along with a pick and maybe another player or two (Qi or Hartenstein). We're much better off with the three team option because then we can at least get Harkless out of the deal.

That may be true but I'm dubious about how he evaluates assets. If he thinks Tim Hardaway was worth that contract, what other silly things does he think?

I think Steve sees THjr as an up and coming player and sees a player that has desire to become a star. Timmy has worked on his defense, ball handling ability and he's a better slasher to basket than he was when he first came in the league. In Atlanta, he worked his way up in the d-league and then became good player off the bench and then became a starter that was averaging close to 18 ppg in 31 mins in the last 32 games of this past season. I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that THjr can average above 20-22 ppg especially as the 2nd option behind KP if Melo is not here.

Why did Melo tell the media that the Rockets overpaid for Lin? Wouldn't that be counterproductive especially with his role in the NBAPA?

Why did Lin choose a payday over the playoffs yet gets worshipped?

That was the last time I really enjoyed Knick basketball

oh man. that was awesome to watch. it's so much fun when a team plays unselfish basketball together.

having a young, aggressive PG who can pass makes everything so much better. hopefully Frank can be that.

According to those clutchfans rockets sports dudes the Portland deal is dead and Rockets are looking for a third team in the East. I appreciate Mills sticking to his guns here and hope he doesn't blow it.

I disagree. Look at where Melo would sign, NONE of those teams have any type of cap room and they may not be able to offer him anything above the taxpayer MLE, whatever that may be next year, but not much. If Melo wants to continue to make big money, he will need a trade before his contract expires.

That contract though. also not hard to be 2nd option on this team if melo goes.

Let's hope. What team could be interested in Ryan Anderson is the concern. Maybe Dell Demps?

Made this trade. Who says no? Obviously Suns are compensated with a draft and likely Portland as well. Knicks get no draft picks but get Harkless and expiring cheap contracts.

This makes me happy... Ryan for Melo is one of the stupidest ideas I've ever heard of.... we should be finding a team to trade Lee to for cap space and sign Rondo. And call it finished.

What draft pick (for the Suns)? Blazers?

Also I would expect a pick going to NY for Anthony from at least the Rockets.

I feel like the longer this goes the better it will get for the Knicks. I hope this goes all summer. Houston knows they need this move to really compete with golden state and they know that then can't compete with the warriors if they trade Ariza or Gordon. You know what else they know? They have to trade picks to get rid of andersons contract. And the rest of the league knows that and the Nets gave the example of what not to do. But the Nets also set a bar of what to demand. So when the Rockets and the Knicks are both ready to take their medicine the rockets will give up an unprotected pick a protected pick and a swap option sandwiched in between. And the Knicks will take the contract
