"A friendly emailer tells me that Royals second baseman Mark Grudzielanek was in the original lineup, but was scratched at the last minute. Joe Girardi says he may be headed to the Mets. We'll keep you posted. And now back to my sweet n' sour chicken "

they've actually talked about him in trades. and a change of scenary can defintely do him well.
and it's the Royals so who really knows. I think Mark G isn't a bad option, just kind of dissappointing Gotay not getting a real chance.
Grienke in the deal makes a huge difference in that thought though. Grienke > Pelfrey, Humber. i'd trade one of them for him anyday.

I was super high on Grienke a few years ago, but since then he has been in the bullpen because of sucking. Though Mets have shown that they can take a young pitcher and presto make something. If we can get Gobble or Grienke in the deal then I guess Id have to take Grud.
Then again whats Joe know?

grienke got some funny stats. (for his career)
In wins:
18-0. 1.76 era, 97 IP, 67 SO, 11 BB
In losses:
0-33. 7.31 era, 170 IP, 111 SO, 53 BB
In no dec:
140 IP, 102 SO, 35 BB
i really think with somebody like peterson, and with a seasoned-clubhouse in NYM, he can really show his untapped potential. and become the oliver perez of 2008.
i do doubt it happens. but the era diff is amazing i think.
