Still, that's low expectations for an icon.

You don't say?

I love LG, but Lin is much better than him. Please.

Much.

I don't know where that comparison came from.

I have no idea.

@Hawthorne - you're guessing a perennial all star was jealous of Lin because you think if Melo is selfish on the court, he must be off it.

Why would he be? Amare got plenty of publicity and he's tight with Melo. Porzingis? We know how close they are.

That's an opinion that fits your narrative and is far from a fact.

@Knox - Look at the Knicks post Lin that year. Better record than with Lin.

Since the NJN breakout with Lin: 15-10 .600
Since Lin chose a payday: 13-5 .720

And Melo was on absolute fire during that time

Rewatch that 1st game. You'll see who's cheering on Lin. Saying he hated it is more made up nonsense.

Do you really deny that Melo was upset that MDA was going to relegate him as a "spot up shooter"? Dude, this shyt is of record. D'Antoni spoke about it himself. Lin took the ball out of Melo's hands.

A rumor is not the same as being on the record

You have to love the mayweather defense lol

It was made about posters leaving the forum over a player but I didn't make it, I just responded and pointed out the context of his popularity. It just shows how some people cannot read something and understand the context of a comment, they just see two names in the same sentence and twist it all up.
If you'd rather see your team fail so you can be right

it came from me saying that people left this site over lin and when you look back it would be like leaving the site over langston galloway. it's an exaggeration but it's somewhat true. he's a nice role player and that's about it. that's been his career. people expressed outrage like he was destined to be a perennial all-star. tkf losing it over gallo actually made more sense. and that made no sense.

Not sure why he isn't a Cav already for shumpert, Frye, rj, cedi and a future 1st.

it is a much better trade. maybe the knicks are sick of helping the cavs and would rather send him west.

http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=ycvj4be4

NYK out: melo, lee, 2018 2nd, 2019 2nd
NYK in: harkless, turner, HOU 2019 1st, POR 2018 1st

HOU out: anderson, gordon, 2019 1st
HOU in: melo, lee, 2019 NYK 2nd

POR out: harkless, turner, 2018 1st
POR in: anderson, gordon, NYK 2018 2nd

is this too convoluted? i think it's fair. HOU and POR both get better according to the hollinger algorithm, plus each team is basically swapping a 1st for a 2nd with us in 2018, 2019 improving our selections while still guaranteeing them a decent placement in the 2nd round during years they're trying to compete

Posters who bring up melo and consistently keep saying things like we should of kept him or look what he's doing with the rockets should be banned. I don't want to hear anymore of his shiet after he's traded. Annoying as fuq.

No. But his contract is better than Ryno or Turner, Crabbe, Leonard.

He has an opt out.

we're taking back salary we don't want whichever way you slice it. rather turner than leonard, either of which i feel is reasonable leverage for 1st to be included since melo is the player of greatest value in the trade

i like it but does portland really save any money there?
I think the only reason they move turner and a 1st is to save cash
i can't imagine they need gordon with their backcourt being so potent

Same thing with 'told ya so', anyone who has such little going on for them that what they said on a forum is a source of personal pride that they need to remind others about it like anyone else cares needs to get a life away from this place.

Leonard's deal is wayyy more manageable.

good point

http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=ybt6rmma

knicks trade o'quinn instead of lee, rockets trade ariza instead of gordon

portland basically swaps harkless and turner for anderson and ariza's expiring

Return to New York Knicks
