it came from me saying that people left this site over lin and when you look back it would be like leaving the site over langston galloway. it's an exaggeration but it's somewhat true. he's a nice role player and that's about it. that's been his career. people expressed outrage like he was destined to be a perennial all-star. tkf losing it over gallo actually made more sense. and that made no sense.

is this too convoluted? i think it's fair. HOU and POR both get better according to the hollinger algorithm, plus each team is basically swapping a 1st for a 2nd with us in 2018, 2019 improving our selections while still guaranteeing them a decent placement in the 2nd round during years they're trying to compete

i like it but does portland really save any money there?
I think the only reason they move turner and a 1st is to save cash
i can't imagine they need gordon with their backcourt being so potent

knicks trade o'quinn instead of lee, rockets trade ariza instead of gordon

portland basically swaps harkless and turner for anderson and ariza's expiring

Not sure why he isn't a Cav already for shumpert, Frye, rj, cedi and a future 1st.

I believe something like this is what ultimately will happen...or at least what should happen. The Cavs are still trying to firm up their GM position too.
For now they could be very hesitant to include Cedi since at only 22 he is their only hope to integrate a young rotational piece.
Cedi has a chance to become a very good 3&D type in the NBA. When Giannis endorses a player you know he has potential.
He would be a solid long term fit next to the Knicks young core pieces too.

We do. We don't take $30MM of salary that goes one (Melo opts out next year) or two years (he doesn't) passed Melo's contract and not really get any great assets. The Crabbe deal makes the THJ deal look like the steal of the century.

Why would he be? Amare got plenty of publicity and he's tight with Melo. Porzingis? We know how close they are.

It's at the point where im sure they're trying to get the best out of a deal now. It'll probably drag for a little while and the price will drop. I just want Melo off so we can rebuild properly. Idc who we get in return. First round picks will be the icing on the cake, but I'm not expecting any real value in return.

I say sometime by the end of the month or the first week in August a deal will be done. Just my opinion here

i think this deal is ridiculously hard actually. the knicks want something for melo and no bad contracts. the rockets have to pay someone to take ryan's contract. that could cost them multiple assets to do just by itself. it actually costs more to get rid or ryan then it does to get melo. which shows you how terrible bad contracts are and why we shouldn't take them. it was cheaper to get paul george than it would be to dump ryan.
