The going rate for a star player has typically been ending contracts, a young prospect and a pick. Phil damaged Melo's trade value, not to mention the NTC, but it's still no reason to take back bad contracts. The Knicks already hand out enough of those like candy without taking back any from other teams in a Melo deal.

It means he's trying to sound smart but doesn't actually have anything to say.

it means Mills is trying to come up with a way of making this trade look good to fans

Melo is popular to teammates and fans despite this boards issues

were gonna hear something about not being able to get full value but wanting to give him a chance to play for a contender while were rebuilding

DAntoni, Smith and Amar'e all said that it was a real thing. Dantoni specifically said that Melo and Amar'e were both unwilling to take on lesser roles. He said that Melo really wasn't willing to move to the 4 in a Lin-centered offense and Amare wasn't willing to backup Chandler. So, he was stuck. I posted the article and quotes last night.

Meyers Leonard is also a bum. He is Kendrick Perkins with a 3-pointer. He is just too slow and too bad of a rebounder to be on the court.

i don't live in portland and i co-sign all this sh*t. f*ck them portland trash contracts.

Big Trades like this have a lot of meta things to deal with. Non-basketball things.

I mean, you saw how the PG & Hayward things played out.

That's assuming everything does actually happen tho.

There's also the possibility that a third team in the deal gets cold feet and drops out prompting them to plan b action.

The baker signing probably means we are getting ET back to run the point. I hope I'm wrong.

I wouldn't mind some Noah Vonleh thrown in there as well.
