Only reason I can see is if he wants to make a additional trade and these smaller contracts are easier to move than Reggies

E'Twaun Moore has $8,445,024 $8,808,685 $8,664,928 left on his contract.
Alexis Ajinca has $4,900,000 and $5,300,000 left on his.
Reggie has $16,000,000 $17,043,478 and $18,086,956 left on his.

Pistons would save money this season and moving forward, but neither player helps us out. We'd be doing it for a salary dump and I would expect a pick back to send Reggie out there.

I might be ok with it as long as there's a follow up move in mind as i don't really have much faith in Reggie being a team leader here and I'm definitely afraid of his knee. This would give two contacts which should be much easier to get rid of. Probably going to have to spend a pick though on a good PG before the season though.

If ever legit, I'd bet this is a rumor from a month ago. Before Jrue was re-signed to that silly deal, and before Detroit made some "now" moves and signings.

A month ago it could make some sense for both teams. Now it would make sense for neither.

Possibly but looking over NOs roster they just look desperate for additional talent without the means to get it. Plus they don't seem like the best front office in the world either.

Yep, I'm not sure this dude has ever broken a story before the big guns. He got some info from a 5 minute phone call before Jrue signed and asked his boss "can I publish this then go home please?"

I'll will print out the first page of this thread, eat it and post it on here for all to see if this deal happens.

Damn near everyone here for almost the past year "Reggie is a selfish cancer with a bum knee. We need to get rid of him at all costs!"

Rumor pops up that we are looking to dump Reggie "Man this is depressing. F this team!"

yes and no, most ppl wanted to get rid him but for at least FV. Trading him for this sh* package makes no sense.

I don't get this trade for either team. Pellies would have so much money tied into two PGs, and we'd be taking back two guys we don't need. I'm open to trading RJ, but we need to get a PG or some sort of asset in return.

I think this probably was discussed at some point.

Maybe New Orleans wanted a plan B if Jrue bolted. Makes no sense for either team now.

We save some money but both guys don't help us and aren't exactly cheap either. Nothing to be thrilled about.

Meh, pretty sure everyone's on board with not wanting to sell astronomically low.

If it's "rumored" then we're not doing it. Every trade this FO has done so far has been a complete out-of-nowhere surprise that we don't find about until the very second it happens.

That, and it would've made at least some kind of basketball sense prior to the Galloway and Moreland signings.

Not surprised as I thought the Pelicans would have been a good target to move Reggie to if they didn't want to pay an absurd amount for Holiday.
