Re: The Amazingly Sucky John Wall Thread
So I've heard contrasting reports from the media about John Wall. It seems like some people are saying that the front office will have the final say and hold John out of the playoffs if there is any chance of reinjury while others (John himself included) are saying that it is up to him. Which is it?

One game of Oscar Robertson, then five games of Stephon Marbury. Is that what John is going to be until he leaves DC?

Re: The Amazingly Sucky John Wall Thread
John wall has a huge contract, and it is only going to get bigger. The Wizards need him to (once he is healthy) to start playing to the level that he is getting paid or the franchise will be screwed for the length of the contract. The Wizards are 10-21 in games John wall has played this season, and are 5-2 in games he hasn’t played.
John wall seems to be a narcissist, so it is hard to do, but someone needs to get him to understand that he has been a huge part of the problem this season, and it is time for him to be part of the solution.

On one hand, Wall deserves some praise for playing hurt because he so badly wants to help the team. I respect that and believe his intent was pure.
On the other hand, Wall's belief that he could help the team despite taking off so many plays on defense and while off the ball on offense reveals a great deal of his arrogance and hubris. He really thinks he is so much better than a replacement player that the team is better off with him even if he was a shadow of his former self. Wall has never accurately acknowledged is strength and weaknesses as a player. He isn't as good as he thinks he is.
It also reveals the apparent lack of control and authority of Scott Brooks. He was either unwilling or unable to tell Wall that the team was better off without him than with him playing like that.

Eh, to me it's really more of an indictment of the organization as a whole.
From the medical/training staff all the way to communications, I can't fathom how on earth the organization didn't get ahead of the narrative that was developing in the media to shield Wall from the criticism he was receiving if the injury was keeping him from being effective out there on the floor.
Particularly in light of the fact that this situation has been lingering for years now apparently, and when you consider Porter suffering from compartment syndrome last year in the playoffs yet was still allowed to jeopardize his longterm health I seriously question just wtf is going on with our training/medical staff.
Nothing new there though, going back to Arenas, and countless other instances, this organization continues to demonstrate why they're second rate.

I agree with every word of this.
However, you don't mention the GM who SHOULD HAVE KNOWN ALL OF THIS before rushing to sign Wall to a super max deal. Brooks' contract is ludicrous. The Wizards are not in bad shape because of Wall's hubris. That's like saying the food is bad without putting the onus on the chef or the restaurant's manager. The cooks are low level employees.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.
